I was in high school, probably 15 or 16.One day while I was taking a bath, I used my shaving razor and cut my leg around my ankle. I remember feeling soo angry, and that this was the only way I could release my anger without hurting anyone else. I continued on like this for a few months, but then I stopped. I do still get the feeling to cut every now and then, but I havent acted on it.

I started in 7th Grade. I was having issues at school and family problems. And my grandmother had just died. I would get really angry and need something to take that anger out on. One day I grabbed a pair of scissors and started cutting my leg. Then life got a bit better and I stayed clean for two years. But then everything started to fall apart again this year. I turned to self harm again and now I use a razor blade. I have to do it on my stomach because that's the only place I can hide. But during school one of my classmates noticed while I was changing in the changing room. And she just gave me this disgusted look and turned away.

I was 12 or 13. I vaguely remember it but not really. My parents really upset me and made me hate myself. I took a shaving razor and slid it across my wrist and bled. After that it became something I resorted to on my bad days and for the longest time I kept it to myself. As I got older and got to my junior year of high school, self harm became a more routine thing for me. I have stopped doing it for over 5 months now. So right now it's hard guys, but trust me, it gets better. :))

Mainly biting my wrist. I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. My mum used to notice, so I grew used to hiding it. I didn't think it was a big deal. But lately I've been picking up knives. I never really did anything, just held it and thought. But tonight I made a mark. I didn't bleed, but I came close. And right now, I'm kind of scared.

A started hitting my head against walls when I was 15 in frustration of the way I would react to situations. I've only cut myself once but I scratch or bite my arms (although I try not to).

The first time I ever hurt myself was around 19, 20 years old.. After I had the worst anxiety attack of my life! That was the only way I could get through it at the time.. I just remember being so angry with myself..wondering why I was the way that I was with having anxiety over little things and just being negative all the time and so I took it on myself by cutting.

The first time I cut myself was the day after my 12th birthday, I suddenly felt so low and angry at myself and I don't know why it was something I thought of doing but I did. I'm now 17 and I haven't stopped in cutting in those 5 years, while I hate myself for it, and I know it's not healthy, I can never seem to find another way to deal with my feelings and my self loathing. I wish it wasn't something I had to do but there's nothing I can think of that will substitute the way it makes me feel

I was 11, I first started by scratching my skin with tacks. Then I decided that wasn't enough and moved on to scratching with scissors, and then full on cutting. I've been struggling with it since.

I was thirteen when I started. I had never even heard of self-injury until I saw flyers in the girls room about how if you or a friend were struggling with it, specifically cutting, to tell a teacher or trusted adult. Well, I had gotten suspended and one night decided it would be a brilliant idea to cut my wrist and then tell my favorite teacher. Yes, I did it for attention that time. But I never told her, or anyone for that matter. It escalated from there until I realized I was losing my friends. I stopped about a year later and was almost six and a half years clean when I started again. Now, for the last four years, I've dealt with going between relapse and recovery.

In hindsight, I wish I had told her, simply because I might not have ever continued with it.

I was six when I scratched my arm with a scissors.

I didn't even know what I was doing but I was aware that it was not right...So i've never told anyone.

I also used to pull out my hair and other things involving pain...

I enjoyed it because I wanted to punish myself I guess
