First time you ever experimented with self-harm?
when i was 12 or probably even younger
I was 15 when I started, and back then I used safety pins, paperclips, and scissors. I'm 18 now and still do it, this time with an X-Acto and razor blades.
This is stupid but I was 11 and I was already struggling with mental illness and other shit and I was hating on myself for failing my math class. When I took a math test, I scratched the numbers of the answers I got wrong onto my hand. The habit spiraled out of control from there.
So it's not technically the first time I experimented with self harm, but I couldn't really find a better place to share about it.
When I self harm, it's because I feel so stuffed full of emotion that I need to let it seep out of my body physically. If you've had an orgasm before, it's a similar kind of emotional explosion in your head. One time, after I had an orgasm, I once again felt that familiar 'stuffed' feeling and I felt the urge to cut, so I did. It was very unlike any other time I've cut myself before. After orgasm pain tolerance is increased, so what it takes to leave a sizable cut almost feels like nothing. This was the first unusual thing for me. Also, the release I felt after cutting was much, much stronger.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? It was such a weird thing and after a lot of searching I couldn't find anyone who had talked about it before.
I was 12.
When I was 4 or 5 and I'm still fighting the addiction. To this day I still don't know why.

About a year ago at age 13 I do it a lot less now but I still don't k ow why I ever started it was just an idea that someone put into my head I thought maybe you would be away to feel better I guess
I started scratching myself with an obsidian rock only a few days ago. I've always had a burning curiosity about what it felt like to cut, but told myself I never would. I tried it once and can't stop thinking about doing it again, especially on numb days. I find myself always looking for a sharp object to draw blood with.
My first time self harming was in 5th grade. I was getting bullied a lot in school for my singing and being smart so I just took some safety scissors and scratched at the back of my hand. It bled a bit but it wasn't deep at all. The release I got felt amazing, but I was afraid to do it again. I still have the scar. I didn't self harm that serious for another year, it was just punches and pinching, but not that bad because I'm weak. Only in 6th grade did it start to get serious again.
Ive been self harming for as long as i can remember, but it never got serious until 7th grade when i was 11 or 12 and i started cutting, and still havent stopped. The first things i would do would be to bruise myself any way i could, mostly near my abdomen, to hide it easier. I dont remember the first time i cut, all i know is that i was hooked. Ive always hated this part of myself.
WHen I was 10. I started picking at my skin constantly.
