First time you ever experimented with self-harm?
Hi my name is Lucila and my first time with self harm was like four days ago with a razor because I couldn't stop my negative thoughts so I felt like I had to do it. Since quarantine my mental health got worse and I've been dealing with a deep depression since April. My problem is that now I'm really good like if I had big emotional changes but my cuts are still there and I'm afraid that if I fall down again, I'm going to cut myself again as a self hatred act.
it was 8th grade. i was 13 and being dramatic as hell but i knew one of my friends would care about me more if i did something like that. definitely was an attention thing at the time but i don't speak with that person anymore and i've grown as a person. it's not an attention thing anymore but it continues. i don't want to get flagged for being too descriptive but when i first did it it barely broke the skin and i used a tool that did not work very well. last about a year and a half ago i switched tools and i make lots of shallow marks. i feel like people have a very specific image in their heads of self harm but everyone does it differently, whether it's a different method or even just a subtle difference in technique. sometimes i feel like my experience isn't "valid" or whatever since i don't have the kind of scars that people see and know it's SH, but really i know the most important thing is not how i do it but that i get well enough to stop.
thinking about it more, idk if this really counts but ever since i was little when i got upset i would hit my head against things and hit and scratch and bite myself. sometimes broke the skin with my nails, always left red marks
I was hospitalized and felt like shit. And then I started scratching until I had big, bright burnmarks.
4th grade. My mom was abusive, and I just needed an escape. I picked at my scabs, making them bleed, and I punched mryself and slapped myself.
I started self-harming at 5 with biting and scratching by age 11 I was cutting and burning.
I don't remember exactly when I first started doing self-harm. But since childhood when I feel sad and disappointed, I always pound my head hard. Then since I was in middle school, I always cut my left arm using a razor blade if I feel very sad and can't stop crying. Then when I had cut my hand, I felt better and my tears stopped.
I started when I was seven, scratching my arms and biting the insides of my cheeks. I still do that.
I started cutting in the beginning of March, I'm scrof being found out. The cuts have started getting deeper
Honestly I had been self harm free since I was 23. But I relapsed 3 days ago. Getting into an argument with my ex boyfriend. I feel like he never cared about my feelings. And on top of that we were trying to get back together. Everytime we have a small disagreement he shus down and becomes weird for the whole day and becomes petty. And when I told him about his behavior. He will take no accountability. And just watched me cry. While I was hurt. And I just felt like he just doesnt care about me. Because what person treats someone like poop over a disagreement over who said what is completely beinine to me. And I already felt bad about other things going on in my life. And he was the icing on the cake. I feel horrible that I hurt myself because of this. I feel like a failure.
I had a friend who would hit me and hurt me in 4 grade, after a while it felt.. good? I cant describe it but after I cut her out (with help from my parents) I tried on to hurt myself, and now 6 years later.. I'm still addicted...
