Differentiating between banned users and users on self-care breaks.
So, currently, these are both represented by this lovely icon:
with the name 'Unknown'.
with the new cleaning up of people with multiple accounts and lots of self-care breaks for exams, it looks like lots of users are constanty being banned.
we need to update these to be different icons and names, as well as being friendlier.
i very much like 'An Old Friend' for users whose accounts have been permanently deleted by request or misbehaviour, and we shouldn't necessarily differentiate between those.
as for self-care breaks... i mean, if we resolve the confusion betweeen these two things, we will necessarily communicate when someone is on a self-care break. but it's not like it's not already a secret when someone involved in the community goes *poof* for a bit and comes back that something is up.
we could honestly just display their name as "On Self-Care Break" bc i can't think of anything better right now.
i'll have to do some thinking on the icons (and if anyone has any direction that'd be gr8), but this is something that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later as all of our forums are turning into grey ?s and that's not actually okay at all.
i find this helpful
omg yes I love this idea @Bunnypants
Can you do this? @Krinkthemellowunicorn
@BurningEmber - I think it depends on whether we know (on the fly) which is which? I am going to raise it as a question in tomorrow's daily developer "stand up" scrum meeting.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
I mean maybe it can detect when a user presses Self care? Could be a coding issue thanks for raising it tomorrow!
@BurningEmber @KrinkTheMellowUnicorn remember when i had good ideas? xD'
@bunnypants - yes and I have honestly not forgotten this one!
