Disappointment and shame
I've only been lurking here for a few weeks, but in that time I feel 7 cups should be ashamed. I came here to have someone just to chat with, one on one. Nothing too in depth, but not regular weather chat. I spent my life working in the soft science and LE and have seen both missteps and ways of genius when it comes to mental health and community. And it seems you guys are failing.
I came to chat with someone, which is your "thing". Not only did it take long periods of time to find people for me to talk to, without any qualifiers, but they often asked questions that made me uncomfortable, regarding my economic status, or spent 30 minutes telling me to do exactly as they say- I needed to trust the implicitly- no questions asked, or just leave the conversations unexpectedly, never to follow up again. And do the people searching for anonymous chats know this is a great place to be victimized?
So I decided I would attempt to enroll in the sponsor program. I posted in both forums, filled out a form and sent many, many DMs. I have not received any word back...from any source.
I have however recieved many spam emails encouraging me to enroll in paid therapy, and the sponsorship program *eyeroll* if I had known downloading your app would do nothing but waste my time, make me uncomfortable, and makethe recipient of spam email regarding therapy services that I'm sure are no better than your "anonymous chats" I would've never bothered
What you went through was sad! My sympathies with you. I know we need to learn a lot and that you may think that this is just some money making business, but everyone is not the same. There are listeners out here who actually care and I say this because I've actually got some good real help. I feel for you because your experience was bad. But theer are tons of listeners here and they all have a life. They amy not be online always. But when they do, they make the most of it. Just because you ahven't got good ones doesn't mean that this site is a scam!
Well yeah, that's because it's all random people on the internet who decided to create accounts. It's just a website. No website is sacred.

You are on a website that is meant to be emotionally supportive. Someone came here and said they were treated horribly. Your response as a listener is "deal with it."
THIS IS A NEVER ENDING PROBLEM WITH THIS WEBSITE.
THE OWNERS OF THIS SITE COULD NOT CARE LESS FOR YOU. THEY CARE FOR YOUR MONEY AND THAT IS ALL.
@intelligentLove41 For someone that's saying that it's the average member's responsibility to uplift the world, you're doing a poor job yourself by calling me THE problem. As if I'm a listener asking rude and prying questions, as if I'm the edgy guy in thinking space telling people to hurt themselves, as if I'm the bot posting penis related spam ads all over the forums.

Phthalo is not a listener responding unprofessionally to a member as you accused them of (hint: YOU are a listener responding unprofessionally to a member here) - they've been an active member for more than a year and are obviously getting something out of this site like many others incl. myself. Do you have any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism or suggestions on what could be done better on here, since you have so much insight?
