“I’m seeking help with…”

January 30th, 2022

I just tried to write a forum post here on my phone and it all deleted. When I clicked the post button nothing happened, so I refreshed and it was all removed… well let’s write this again I guess.

Whenever I select a topic I want to get support on after clicking connect now, it sends a message to my listener once they connect that says “I’m seeking help with [topic].” I have never seen this message on a chat with a member on my listener account. I use cups on my phone (website) and computer. Does anyone else ever see this? I find it kind of annoying because I like to start conversations with a hello before saying what I need help with… idk. Hope this is the right place to post this.

@blueberrywaffles As far as I know, "connect now" is misleading. It doesn't connect you immediately. Instead, it allows listeners to see which topic you are seeking help with before you connect. This helps to ensure that you get a listener who is able to chat about your topic.

I agree with you that this means the listener knows the topic before you even have a chance to say hello.

@blueberrywaffles This only appears if you put in the topic for that chat. If you initiate a 2nd chat via chat now and do not go through noni it will default to the last topic you used, but doesn't put that line in the new chat.

Things on the app may be different.
