I liked it! It gave me some really interesting thoughts too! :D I also love the quote "I've just become more comfortable with being uncomfortable". Like that's tattoo quality!

that was a really great video Laura.. i agree with what you said.. to do anything in life,, one does need to take risks.. and to take risk,, a person does need to step out of their comfort zone,,, make plans,, and be brave enough to move,, regardless of the outcome...

thanks for sharing such a beautiful video :)

Very insightful. Great video. I loved when you said you were just more comfortable with being uncomfortable. That really struck a cord with me. I could watch this again because of the great reminders it brings. Again, truly a Great Video!

Really loved it. It is interesting that we are prone to never get out of our comfort zone, although it is very important to grow as a person in my opinion. The vulnerability, as you said, is something that seems totally dangerous, but actually can make our life is better and allows us to explore exciting new opportunities. The future can also be scary, but it is you who makes it.

Thankyouheart

Oh! I liked that!

"(...) I haven't gotten less uncomfortable (...) I've just gotten more comfortable with being uncomfortable."

Such a beautiful sentence that put into words (English words at least! :D ) how I feel too while growing up. But, even before I hear this part of the video, I had thoughts on vulnerability that I liked to share that are linked with this quote too: the reasons I have detected behind this result.

First I need to say that in general I think about reasons a lot because I know how it is like to listen to "advice on how to be/feel/behave" and all I can hear are alien words that mean nothing to me. I felt like this a lot while I was dealing with problems and all my environment had to offer were "behavioral" approaches. But, how can someone change their habits without changing their reasons behind those habits?

So, what made mefeel more comfortable with feeling uncomfortable, take risks that were absolutely out of character at a younger age, open up to people and experiences in general, was starting to TRUST myself.

This might sound odd at first reading, but it is true. All the lessons I learned about myself, all the faulty beliefs about myself I successfully changed, all the strong foundations I built, led to that. Because in my case I needed to LEARN how to trust myself. All Ihad experiencedfrom a certain important person in myenvironment growing up was an incapability to trust. You know, the kind of person who would "love you" only in the extend of their own emotional benefit, and in any case of doing something they didn't approve or they couldn't handle emotionally, they would push you away... So many times were those that I remember actually feeling as if a "bridge" had collapsed and could never be built again. :/

Anyhow, while this certain person still can't even handle adding new people to their life, here I am, feeling strong standing in my shoes, having learned that getting embarrassed/exposed/hurt doesn't kill me, knowing that making mistakes is the most human thing to do,andassertively standing my ground when serious conflicts occur.Because I trust myself, so I trust my point of view,my feelings and my abilities (or "powers" like I prefer calling them), and I know that even if something bad happens and affects me greatly, I will overcome it sooner or later. Well, major part in this belief played the fact that I learned to evenlyappreciate all kinds of feelings and psychological states, positive or negative.

So this is what I wanted to share.

Thank you for this video!

PS: This must be my 3rd-4thforum post today? While at work??? I thought that surfing the net, playing games, watching videos, movies and looking at Imgur pictures and online debates was the only thing available online that suited my tastes to just pass the time. But, now, after being in here for that last...hour or so, I feel like I finally found a place I belong to??:D Just because I can write about things like this! Share thoughts and opinions on matters like this that I am so interested about! No matter if anyone reads them or not. Getting them out of my chest feels amazing! No more keeping them just in my notebook! So keep up the good work people! And I hope that all the people that come in here find food for thoughts that will guide them to healing, no matter how small or big their issues are.

Your remark about getting more comfortbale with being umcomfortbale really resonates with me. I feel that it describes my progression really well, particularly with my self harm behaviours that I struggled with for some time. It's about learning to sit with how you feel in all it uncomfortableness, but knowing that on the other side you will get through.
