Notifications Bug

Hey Krink!

Take this scenario:

I have 3 notifications. I was tagged somewhere and other 2 notif for new posts to the threads I am subscribed in.

I click on the one where I was tagged in and the other two disappear as well! WOAH. Why? This seems like a bug and something quite annoying because if you have many notifications, you miss them all once you click on one of them...

So yeah. Did anyone else had this thing happening?

I'm on a Window 8.1 laptop / Chrome browser

I haven't seen that happen myself, and if it only happens occasionally then it might be hard to track down. Tagging Krink anyway.

@harrypotternerd

Does this happens to you too? On computer or app?

@cristiana33 - this usually happens when all the notifications went to the same forum thread. would that possibly be the case here?

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn

Hey yeah! I think that was it. :) Thanks. I made such a huge deal over something that may actually be a positive thing!

Hmm what if we are tagged by let's say different people in the same thread, one person tagged us on the first page and the other on another page, wouldn't it be useful to keep both notifications there?

@cristiana33 - yes definitely!

what you want and expect is reasonable.

the way it is made right now that is a bit tricky to do.

we have a long-term plan of enabling notifications to go to specific posts that would help, but it requires some "plumbing" work and we haven't been able to get to it yet.

Hey Krink!

This is minor, but when I received a notification on my phone, there was just a spelling error, "learnt" instead of "learned" was written. That's all.

Have a a good day!

In the UK, "learnt" is the more common spelling. In the US, "learned". Dictionaries all over the world recognize both spellings. (I hope ther'll be no complaints about the z in "recognize" wink )

@cristiana33 Thank god for that, I thought it was me, let loose near a computer! Exact same thing happens with me, BUT, by accident so can't really take the credit, I've discovered that pressing the arrow to take you back a page, puts up the notifications again. Just have to do it each time, which can be annoying. I take comfort in having thwarted the computer though!

@CuriousBookworm5 - someday we hope to give you a list of notifications and show which ones you've seen and which you haven't, etc., but one thing at a time!
