Review sheet comes up before ending the chat
Hi @KrinktheMellowUnicorn. The review sheet used to only come up when the "end chat" button was clicked. Now it seems to come up automatically after only a few minutes or messages. I find it very disturbing. Older members might know to just click somewhere else and continue their chat with the listener, but to new members or guests it might look like they are supposed to now be done with the chat. And they would scarcely have had time to properly describe their problem. I don't like it at all. Why is it happening? Can we stop it? I think this will be very upsetting to guests and new members. If I were in their shoes I would think I am not allowed to continue my chat and would feel very rejected, silenced and angry or sad or both.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
@Chiaroscuro1
Some chats are only a few messages long. Whats to tell the difference between an ongoing, longer ondemand chat vs. an email style chat with only a few back and forths?
Additionally, the review modal is not meant to indicate the end of the chat. Just a friendly reminder to let your listener know how they are doing.
Thanks!
@Laura - it sounds like it may need to be clearer how to dismiss it, and maybe to make sure it does not appear to be ending the chat?
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
that makes sense. We are working on updating the review modal and we can incorporate this feedback in.

Or perhaps it can show up off to the side a bit? I used a guest account the other day to check on how something looked from the member side and I was surprised by the pop up also. The way it is right in the center of the screen--it does kind of imply to newer members/guests that their listener has ended the chat. So, maybe the window can move or we can make it more clear that the chat is not over per se.
@Chiaroscuro1
Everyone be making some good points here. Laura is right in that a longer term member might find the Pop-Up helpful but in most active chats, it can be a nuisance. Im not sure i have a solution here, just letting you know that you all make a good point that is valid.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me and really think about the situation. I agree that it could be a very good thing to remind the member/guest to give the listener feedback. I know that some listeners do not want to specifically ask for feedback and some members/guests will not give feedback if they are not specifically asked for it. And then there is the matter of how to know when a chat has come to its conclusion.
Maybe if the wording could be changed? Or how it is presented? I realise it is easier for me to say than for you guys to get done. When it happened to me the first time, I thought it was a mistake. But as I tried to talk to a couple more listeners I realised that this is happening every time and it was very jarring to me. My cat has just died and I was very focused on that and trying to get a good listener without having to browse and leave a message. So maybe it won't be so bad for people who just want to talk. But I think if you are in pain and you are trying to get a listener to hear you then this sheet coming up doesn't do what you were hoping it would do.
Again - thank you for taking the time. I really appreciate it. I am just one voice and it is not all about me. Still, I feel like you guys heard me. That is very kind of you. I am grateful for the work that you do here. Be blessed.
@Chiaroscuro1 - do you mean it came up after you sent a few messages even when the listener had never replied?
cc @laura
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn - No. I was picked up from the general requests waiting list. There were a few messages from the listener. But every time I hardly felt like the conversation started. It felt like I had about enough time to say "My cat died and I feel sad" and the listener had time to say "Aw shame". Not literally so few messages. But my point is that I felt the conversation didn't have time to go anywhere before the sheet came up. Maybe I'm just too sensitive on the matter. Or I'm not exactly clear on why it comes up so early in a chat. When I'm on my listener account I never have such short chats when I accept a general request. Has no one else said anything about this?
@Chiaroscuro1 - I get it, thanks. so @laura it does sound like we need to up the threshold.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn - So I meant this happened in live chats. If it happened in a situation where I left a message for a listener it would bother me less although I would still wonder if I am supposed to now not send any more messages to the listener.
@Chiaroscuro1 This is alarming indeed. I hope it gets fixed.
