I'll be there! So glad it's 4:00 EST and 1:00 for me otherwise I couldn't come.
Someone asked the question about alternative methods of out reach. I was also reading in the forums that listeners aged 30+ are often requested. So there seems to be a desire to utilize some of the older population of listeners and this makes me wonder how well 7 cups is doing serving the older population in general. I've looked at the 7 Cups Listener Age distribution spread sheet and not surprisingly, there are relatively few in the upper age categories, yet these individuals have a great deal of life experience to draw from. I've been doing some online research in regards to internet, social media, and email usage for different age groups and the numbers support alternative outreach, as older individuals are still about +75% internet users, but only about 25%-30% social media users. How do we get the word out to these individuals, not only to offer support, but also to add them to our listener numbers? And how do we serve them best when they arrive? It's true that this underserved population definitely has support needs, and untapped listening skills to offer.
