@krinkthemellowunicorn I can confirm that #5 is still happening quite often
Agreed with the conversations still not stable and updating on iphone.
Also i noticed scrolling on the iPhone the scroll bleeds above the title bar at the top across the notification bar (hope this makes sense)
I am not sure also if the chat bubbles at the top are a great option as multiple chats lead to them being all over the place and generally more of a pain then anything else
@Willclarity - thanks for the feedback... we just made a fix to messages that were missing if the app was asleep or in background.
we are aware that the top status area is transparent when it should not be... that is temporary till be get get the top bar set up the way we want.
those quick-switching bubbles are also a temporary expedient.
" - don't let mods mod mods" nice one @krinkthemellowunicorn ;)
With the new app, that was fixed and I don't think there is still a way to do this
and " - Messages appearing twice in chat rooms after time" sounds fixed
@Ace13 - ah, good... i hadn't had time to check that one recently.
@Ace13 yeah i thnk the duplicate messages was a bug of reconnecting after sleep.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn hmm what I get from coming back to sleep are messages out of order
@Ace13 - is this the current behavior?
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn yes, that did not change for me and has been going on for a while
Nos. 1 and 2 fixed!
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
I haven't been in the chatrooms as much lately, so just noticed this fix today...and I've got to say YAY!!!! Thank you!
@krinkthemellowunicorn I don't see timestamps during an ongoing conversation in a room? only old messages... not sure if that's what we want
@Ace13
the primary demand for timestamps in group chat I've heard for so far is making sure a conversation is still active when you arrive or after time has passed.
So the current rules we're trying are that timestamps are shown when you enter a chat room, and then any time a message is 5 minutes old its timestamp appears.
Thus, if you show up in a room and the timestamps are old you know the conversation has petered out.
Likewise, if you have a window open and time passes and you come back, if no one has said anything new the old messages will have time stamps.
In a fast-moving conversation where several people post within the same minute it seems that time stamps are less useful.
However, if I hear of a real need for them constantly, we can always turn them back on at all times (as they are currently in the app).
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
I think the best use of them is in an active chat is for the discussion leaders because we tend to look at how long it took since we posted a question, etc. it makes it simpler. I totally understand your point though and I think it's already a nice update :D
@Ace13 yes yes yes we really do!!!
just updated to show that @devTeam knocked off a few more bug - they weren't on the top ten list but they are in the backlog below.
will update the top ten list next...
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn awesome! thanks for the update :)
I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but the android app for me seems very glitch. It crashes and there are many times where I lose the bottom bar ( that allows you to switch between the chat , forums, etc ). Is this happening with anyone else?
I'm having an issue with not being able to see some people's feeds.
Not sure why, but everything comes up blank - even their follower list. However, I have seen their recent posts elsewhere via reblogs (I do not follow anyone, so it's possible that it comes up on the main feed without showing on their feed itself OR it could just be me for some reason). Sending in a bug report about it later, but thought I'd write this in case I forget.
@QuickJazz - bug introduced this weekend during server maintenance. @ezraBC is troubleshooting it right now.
Brilliant, @KrinkTheMellowUnicorn ! Thank you for the update.
I thought it was happening this weekend!! But I had previously presumed it was due to the feeds being turned to private. However, when I asked one person if they had theirs closed and they said No, that's when I wrote this!
@QuickJazz - the feed has some real challenges right now in how we built it and it sometimes bumps up against space limitations, causing some of these problems.
we have a plan to make it more efficient and less prone to these outages but to do that we need about 3-5 days of @ezraBC's time and to get that time we need to meet some app milestones first... so in the meantime, Ezra has to keep the whole thing afloat somewhat manually.
He is working on a fix for this now, but it may happen again once or twice before we reboot the whole thing for reals.
on iphone i can't see the text when intry to reply or post something in the forum. it's just a gray box. i'm typing blind right now, this is no fun :(
also the forum navigation in the iphone app is really non existent?
@miya211 - we are aware of the forum posting-box bug and will fix it as soon as we can (it's in the top ten list).
The forum navigation has always been mediocre on the app and we have (NOT) had the time to update it yet, but we are working on it.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Ok, I see. Thank you for your reply.
My biggest problem is really, that I can not see what I am typing on the phone. I see the cursor blinking (where my written text ends), but I see nothing else until I hit the Add Post button...
@miya211 - yes, i'm sure that's frustrating. let me see if there is any workaround in the short term.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Thank you!
I'm having problem with my follower and following lists. They both show that I have 0 follower and I don't follow anybody.
@Anggi - this is from some server maintenance last night and I expect we'll have it fixed soon.
