crisis pop-up message on forums and deleting post when not in crisis.
i just spent the past hour of my time writing out an extremely long forum post, talking all about what was going on in my life. i explained in the post specifically how i was not suicidal at all, yet i got a pop-up saying that "Something in your forum post sounded like you might be in crisis. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please refer to these crisis resources." i spent a very long time writing all of that out, and i was just looking for some support. the post didn't go through, so i lost all of it. every last word that i just literally poured my emotions into for the past hour. is there any way to get this back?
@chocolatelove8 You cannot recover a post after it is deleted automatically like that, as far as I know.
When a post is deleted manually by someone at a later stage, then you can sometimes recover it, but I've not seen any deleted post having been recovered for a long time.
The system that deletes posts automatically because they mention suicide is badly designed and doesn't work well at all. I am not aware of any plans to fix it, though. You can complain using the form in the Help Center: Submit a request Complaining here in the forum is very unlikely to have any effect. Indeed, there's a possibility this forum thread itself will be deleted because of the taboo topic.
A long-term solution to this problem would be for everyone who runs 7 Cups, from the CEO down to ambassador level, to receive mandatory suicide prevention training. Then it would be more likely for policy decisions in this area to be informed by evidence of what works. But again, suggesting a solution here in the forum is very unlikely to have any effect.

Thank you for all sharing those suggestions here. It does sound like maybe having a system where you not allowed to post the forum post might be better instead of having it deleted so that you're able to fix it as well.
Also, can you clarify your suggestion about the suicide presentation training for Leadership here so I can understand what your talking about?

@chocolatelove8 ah I know that frustrating feeling well! Unfortunately like Charlie mentioned, there isn't really a way to get it back. I wish it worked the same way as in the chats, where you keep your message and are able to reword it! I can't imagine how many people wrote out things they've been building up the courage to share only to have it deleted like that...how discouraging that would feel. This unfortunately isn't the first time someone has mentioned this in the forums
