See Own Forum Thread

I think it would be good to have a way to see all the forum threads an account creates. Ive been banished from 1on1 chats and the chatrooms so all i have are forums, but I post a lot and I can never find my threads!

Have you tried using google to search the forums with your username?

ie. https://www.google.ca/search?q=7cups.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=W8BrVb_YKcyYNvCvg_AI#q=Catplum24+site:www.7cups.com%2Fforum

i think that it's a good idea another site that i really like called virtual teen allows you to view all past threads by a member as long as they arent deleted by the user of a modorator

Like, if I have 20 threads on this site, I dont want to have to google search for every one of them.

Also, when I get alerts with new replies, Im not directed to the new reply. I have to scroll thru pages of posts carefully looking at the posted date to see what is new.

And the re-reading of old material makes me flash back to when I wrote things and then I end up just feeling really sad and depressed bc I generally write here when Imupset about something (who fucking writes to these forums when in a good mood? Who ever they are needs to find another site to use)

I do think it's a good idea to have the feature on the forum to find our own posts. I just gave google as a suggestion for what can be done now.

@CatPlum24 - I 100% agree and have suggested this in the listener forums already. Have you submitted the idea to the suggestion box? That's a good way to make sure it gets seen by the people who could potentially implement the change.

I would also go one step further with this and say that I would like to be able to search all posts made by a particular user, so that if there's someone who I think is saying particularly astute things, I can read more of what they have written or get some further background from other spots in the forum.

For me personally, it would be nice to have easy access to my past threads and I also agree with @Anomalia on the part that if you like what a specific person has written you could browse through their forum history.
On the other hand, that option would also take away some of the anonymous nature of this website. But I think that there?s always two sides of the same coin.

That wouldnt take away anonymity - a member would still be anonymous to the site and be hind the "mask" of their member name

Yeah, that's true. But I meant if all members could browse through your forum history, then they could find out a whole lot of you. More than they would when they just stumbled upon an entry you wrote in a certain thread.

I think that would be helpful I know im sick and tired of typing the same story of my crap life to every single person I want to try to connect with on here.

I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe they could have it as a personal choice, if you want it displayed on your public profile or not.

It can be done anyway though, so why not just make it more user-friendly?

Checked a thread alert. Hit a wrong button. Now I have no idea where this thread is! This app sucks

This is actually very true - Members and listeners may reply, comment or upvote my posts, but the difficulty is that I will be sent to the last (latest) page of the thread instead of directly to my post, so I will then have to go searching through the pages to find a single post. Other websites enable you to go directly to the location of your notification and I think it is something 7 Cups could really take up.
