App Update: New Chat Application Now Live! August 1st, 2015

Hello!

We were previously testing a new feature on the app in beta (reminder can be found here)! Thank you to everyone who gave it a try and provided feedback.

This feature is no longer in beta, it is LIVE on the app, as of this morning! Hooray!

As a reminder, this feature gives you the ability to navigate between varying conversations and chatrooms much faster. You will be able to engage in more than one conversation very easily!

If you have a problem with this feature: There is a toggle in the settings page that allows people to revert to the old system in case they have any problems.

If you'd like to report a bug, you can post it here in the forum. We will be monitoring!

This is a super silly problem, but in the iphone version of the app the new chat application types across the text window instead of the text wrapping around to the next line like it used to (this is for very long messages). This has caused a lot of my words to clump together like "hithere" instead of "hi there." I think it may partially be because of the predicitve text feature on iphone too. A fix would be wonderful!

Also if you have no idea what I'm talking about... I can try to explain it in different words.

I know this was happening in beta, but I had hoped the fixes I put in place fixed it. Can you confirm that you are stll experiencing this?

@ezraBC if the autocorrect is deactivated it no longer does that bug for me , but if it is activated ,it still does it

@ezraBC while talking about bugs ,Im glad to see that many of them have been fixed ,but there is still one issue that makes it harder to use ; the bar is too short on most phone so it hides 1 or 2 of the 5 pictures on the bar which is hard to click on. Also , is the bug report form still being looked at ?

Hi I havent had too many problems with the new chat but the green bar with the alerts/listeners/chat/forum shows up above the keypad and makes my chat screen alot smaller. (Kinda gets in the way) Im going to have to stay with the old chat version.

I didn't notice this before, but now I see that I don't have a "refer" button in the chat rooms.

@ezraBC thanks! I've found something else as well, when I'm moderating the chats, it won't let me delete messages.

I could never handle more than one chat at time on the app version because it took too long to switch between everything. This is basically the same thing as switching tabs on a internet browser. I'm going to get a lot of use out of this! :)

On screens which are 4.7" you can switch between a max of 3 chats. However this still helps a lot. I just have one question. The app right now is mostly just a web wrapper, so the advantage is that we can have updates distributed evenly and instantly, but what are your thoughts on storing some of the elements offline? most certainly storing chats is not possible, because of security reasons. But, you can have the group rooms list first(which is already done!! :) )

many of the listener features that are present on the site are a bit hard from the app, but this is really nifty.
