April Mid-Month Update: Badge Locked Sub-communities!
Hello Everyone!
I am excited to announce a new feature. This feature has long been requested by our leadership teams and via our suggestion box. I can remember talking about this idea over 3 years ago.
So thank you all for being patient, its finally here!
We will soon be able to badge lock sub-communities. This means that only people with certain badges will be able to access the corresponding forum category or sub-community. This will be particularly helpful for our leadership teams. And to be very clear, we will not be locking down any of our topic based subcommunities. We will use this feature for team collaboration and coordination!
For example, Group Mod Zone will become a badge locked community for the group mods!
There are many ways we can learn and experiment with this update! I am very excited to provide our leadership and project teams more intimate spaces for collaboration, sharing in support and teamwork!
I think this will be very useful for coordination and sharing of information, meeting notes, etc. And I appreciate the clarification that none of our support forums are being badge locked - that's super important!
@Anomalia I agree yayyyy excited for the possibilities, and potentially not having to fight with google drive so often :p
This is neat; however, the application forms will have to be moved. For example, the Group Mod application form will have to be moved to a different subcommunity such as Listener Projects and Teams forum so these forms can still be accessed to those wanting to apply!
@Emily619 - Excellent point! I think it would be good to have it in with Listener Projects & Teams anyway, though - it's nice to have everything in one place if someone wants to get more involved and see all the options available to them :)
