July 24: New Chat Application - Only on The App & Still Beta
Hello 7 Cups App Users!
This weekend we are going to launch a fancy new feature! But, this feature is still in beta & we need your help to test it. It will be available ONLY on the app! Everyone is welcome to give it a whirl. Here is how it will work!
What will this feature do?
This feature will allow you navigate between varying conversations and chatrooms much faster. It will give you the ability to easily have more than one conversation going at once. (I have tested it, it is very slick).
At the top of the app, you see a bar with up to 5 of your most recent conversations. The conversations will be indicated with your user picture or the chatroom initials. Only 5 will be listed at one time. Once you hit 6, the 6th will drop back to your regular conversation list.
You will be alerted on this top bar when one of your chats has a new message for you to view. Screenshot here!
You will be able to click through to these conversations very easily from this top bar.

How can I turn it on?
In your account settings, you will need to turn this feature on. If you do not turn it on, you will not be able to participate. If you don't like it, you can turn it off at any time.
Should I expect bugs?
Yup, this is brand new!
Where can I report bugs? And give feedback?
Great, we'd love for you to tell us what is working & not working, so we can continue to get it right. Please use this form to file bug reports specifically related to this feature. Remember, if you don't love yet, you can turn it off and go right back to the original app!

just downloaded on to my iphone. it was a little slow responding to log in i cant wait to use it tomorrow.
When you say are we talking about iPhone/Andriod or both ??? Would love o test it out. Current one is very laggy.
Any chance this app might be released for Windows Phones too?

The app is amazing. I love this site and it makes it easier to use.
I will post it in the form, but i believe an update is out and now the app is unusable for me , messages dont appear nor send .

Hey Ace,
The update will only impact your experience if you click "Multiple Chat Testing" on the settings page. If you find problems (And I bet you will!), just unclick that and everything will go back to normal. :)
@Ace13--David, once I enabled the option, I couldn't scroll to find chats from yesterday or choose chat rooms other than right on the screen. It's like it was frozen. You having this issue?
@ezraBC I've managed to get the bar in some way, but indeed I cant scroll but there are other issues; 1- chats take minutes to load , its worse than before 2- even if I click on other people in the bar , it doesnt changes chat and just stays in the same one 3- I cant see any messages for now
I've issued a temporary fix for the scolling issue. Will refine in a few moments.
Chat loading uses the same endpoints as previously, so the initial loading will be the same. Its the switching between rooms and monitoring of active conversations that will bring speed savings.
Anyone else ticked the box but not seeing anyying different? Do I need to install an update or something?
Until you take on more than two active conversations of particpate in more than 2 rooms at once, it should behave as normal. If you do, youll see a quick switch bar (or a plus in the top right), that allows you to track conversation activity and switch quickly.
