The past Friday was an out of ordinary day. Finally had the time to sit-down with my mother for a chat about my current life status. We went to a coffee shop around lunch time, as we waited for my dad (he went to play a sport with his friends nearby). Over coffee, that discussion flew by quickly, and we almost lost track of time. Had my dad's friends drop him off to where we were. Based on the topics we covered in our chat, there will be some challenges and goals I'll have to work on. Except I'll have at least two months to achieve them.
This week itself, I'm planning to invite my parents' friends over for games day and dinner. The lunar year is coming to an end, as Chinese New Year is coming Jan. 22nd. My purpose of the invite is to thank their friends for spending time with my parents. My parents are almost with them 2-3 times per week. More with my dad, as he play the sport with them at least 3 times a week. My mum would go with him every so often, as she is at a beginner's level. There are two other couples who always invite my parents over for games, lunch, and dinner. Even the single dad that is amongst their circle of friends often invite my parents over. So, as my parents went to Church this morning, I have asked them to tell her friends about my invite. My brother is on a business trip, so this is basically the most ideal time to invite her friends over for games. This is not doable if my brother was home (as he works at home, there's no way that they can be invited over from games). I'm thinking of ordering a cake, with "Thank you for everything" written on it. As for a goal, I want to finish writing a topic for my business. I've started it yesterday, so I can most likely finish it in the next few days. That way, I can move forward and start researching on a different topic.
In five years' time, I hope that I'll be in a relationship and be working in a more stable career, also, I hope my business would be up and running by then. In ten years' time, hopefully by then, I would be married and feel like I'm living a fulfilling and meaningful life!~

Hello, I am really struggling a lot with depression and loneliness and have been staying up late and having trouble keeping up with school. Our school started back very early and we haven't had an exam yet, but we have one coming up and I'm really struggling with motivation due to the loneliness. I think I got somewhat triggered by seeing toxic family over christmas and also having a breakup.
Breakups over the holidays is especially harder to deal with and it sure doesn't help with a toxic family. Do you have classmates or friends that you can share this difficult time with? Loneliness will seem dreading when we continue to dwell in emotions that we feel with it. No matter how much of a struggle it is, keep yourself busy with other things, like with your school. You probably won't be as focused, so work on it little by little.
I remember when a friend abandoned our friendship, I was depressed for so long. It was just before the holidays, so I had exams coming up. I had to force myself to study, although I often zoned out during lectures, but I tried using my own time to catch up with the readings and study that way. Back then, I lived on campus, so I went to study in the corner of the cafeteria, or at the library. I knew that if I stayed in my room, I would just feel depressed and probably choose to stay in bed all day. I didn't have much motivation either, but back then, because I was paying for my own tuition, I knew that I couldn't afford to retake a class if I failed. So that indirectly, became my motivation to stay on top of my studies despite being depressed and saddened that I lost a friend.
Here's to wishing you that this difficult time will pass sooner than later. We'll be here with you through this time. Reach out, and we'll be right there to catch you~
