@AReineRose

Aw are you starting soon? Good wishes to you!

Somethings I'd wish I knew before starting high school is that I'm allowed to explore as much possible, be it discovering more about myself, and about people or opportunities around.

To not be afraid of anyone judging- half the time people are not even thinking lol and the other time they are thinking about themselves, we aren't even on that list. XD

Be open to friendships, getting to know more people.

Knowing that everyone around is going to push on a certain invisible "deadline" for "achievements" but I'm allowed to set the pace myself and not confine my self-worth to certain accolades that "they" think are important to achieve in a stipulated time duration.

Great 👍. Thank you for your precious words ☺️🌹. But I will soon finish high school. And I started to think about the things that I wish I knew before this experience 😄.

@AReineRose oh Haha I see, good wishes to you as you graduate soon! 💗 It's great to reflect!

Thinking back now, what are somethings you feel knowing earlier would've been helpful for you?🌞

As you said knowing that no one really cares about how you talk or how you dress or how you eat.....

@AReineRose it is liberating to realize that, indeed!

Hi there! Are you just starting high school this upcoming school year? Good luck! I would say the most important thing is to make sure you both balance academics and your social life! Not all of your middle school friends will remain your friends for the entirety of your high school journey, but that is okay. You will make a lot of new friends! Make sure to have fun!

Thanks a lot for your tips. I still have one more year in high school so I am closer to end this journey than to begin it 😂

@AReineRose

This is a really great question, I've just finished sixth form and I've been thinking a lot about things I wish I knew before starting secondary school. I think one of the main things I wish I knew is how real burnout can be. Back then, I thought I was 'immune' to burnout, I didn't believe it was a real thing.  I thought feeling exhausted and constantly stressed was normal and that I had to keep pushing myself no matter what. But what I didn't realise was that constantly overloading myself without breaks left me drained, anxious and disconnected.

So moral of the story, rest isn't laziness or wasted time, it is absolutely necessary. Take time for hobbies, socialising and relaxing - it helps your mental state and focus!

@izzyy528 Absolutely right 👍▶️. Burnout is a serious issue that every student should consider. Happy you learnt such great values✨
