Hiya guys! I have a GCSE exam (high school exam) on Wednesday, and for it I have to learn 52 different stories!!!! Can you recommend any good memorisation techniques!!! I really want to do good on it because it's worth 50% of my grade!!! Luckily I'm allowed to take the whole day off to study!!

Thank you!

@SakuraSkye

I always tried to connect each idea / story with something familiar. If you in general associate the colour red with a rose, let's say, try to find an element in that story that will make you think of a rose/red. It might not be the best example but I always do better with connections. You can also try to make some visual patterns in your mind for each story, but who knows if this won't actually make it harder. There are after all 50+ of them.

Good luck! Trust yourself!

For your particular case with such short deadline i wouldn't be too useful, but for learning languages, names, dates etc, it helps to attach them to some melody and sing them a few times. For material like yours i would suggest learning well some part, then have a nap (sleeping, we process memorized stuff during sleep) for an hour or so and repeat. But with such a short deadline I don't know how helpful this would be, unless you are a good sleeper.

@SakuraSkye for memorisation, I feel that writing the contents from your textbook in your way is a great way for memorization! it'll help you understand the topics better and easier as compared to memorising directly from the textbook. then, repeat the content by saying it out several times till you could remember. try using flash cards or anki as well to test your memory (here's a tutorial for anki: https://youtu.be/pl-SX4Qt1vQ)! here's a great video that i found really helpful for studying in general: https://youtu.be/6DDK6t6v4F8. all the best and i hope this is at least a little helpful!

I used to do a lot of theatre, so I find it really helpful to rewrite/retype my notes then say them out loud to myself like it's a story or memorizing a script. If you can organize them by chapter or taught sections it can help break it down into smaller stories too. That's been my preffered method for mass memorization! With writing and talking I find it gives me a couple different ways of memorizing.

Turn what you what to memorise into a super annoying, catchy song! It gets stuck in your head and you'll remember it
