How do you find the motivation to read texts that are difficult to understand, long, and/or boring? I read the books by chapter then use cliff notes or something similar, but sometimes you still miss specific important details since you only get a summarry. Other times I take notes, but it sometimes feels like too much effort. Take care everyone and stay motivated!

Hi. I find using sites like Spark Notes and Lit Charts helpful. Also, watching YouTube videos helps because there are a lot of different perspectives on the text. Also, asking your teacher for help is important.
I have an essay about Shakespeare's Macbeth. Either kill me or help me pls?
@exuberantSquare483 What type of an essay do you have to do? What are your assignment guidelines?
Also, Shakespeare gets more fun when you look for all of the dirty jokes. In MacBeth, for instance, in Act 2 Scene 3 there's a bit with the porter where he's going on about the effects of too much liquor and he has a whole little monologue about the paradox of how getting drunk can make a man feel... let's say "amorous" while also making him unable to perform:
"...therefore, much drink
may be said to be an equivocator with lechery:
it makes him, and it mars him; it sets
him on, and it takes him off; it persuades him,
and disheartens him; makes him stand to, and
not stand to..."

I did not do well on the FSA. I read the text four too or three hours. Know, maybe longer. The FSA is hard. I only did an itronducion. It was an arguement. I did not no too plan. Ms. O'Connell think I miht do good. I do not want too fail my English teacher.

Aawhh Well of course you don't want to do that. Mmm, it seems like this is very hard for you. Have you thought of making outlines and rough drafts? Maybe even making a bubble outline?
