hey! im kinda new to 7cups, ive had this app for a few weeks but never really used it save for a few general support chats. im currently still in school, but every single time i finish an assignment it feels like theres 7 more to do. also, ive been trying my best to please my mom but it seems like its never enough for her. i no longer feel satisfaction from my accomplishments.. ive stopped sleeping well and get nightmares abt grades, i barely socialize, the only thing motivating me to keep going is the idea that ill eventually get a break. does anyone have any advice? it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear this, this sounds really stressing and frustrated. I just want to say, you don't have to satisfy others, but only yourself. School life is really difficult, I want to say to you, sometimes it's okay to be not ok

thank you, that really means a lot. ❤️❤️ i will try to not let the stress affect me too much, but growing up, i was taught that my worth was tied to my academic success so its a bit hard to get rid of that feeling haha

Hey spout thanks for reaching out!

It sounds like school is stressing you out alot! I can definitly relate to when the amount of work just seems never ending, as soon as you finish one there is no break you have another to complete. I can see you trying really hard. that is more then enough. I know it can be easy to fall in the trap of trying to please other people. Sometimes I think we have to reflect and remember why we are doing it. you are not defined by a grade, your worth is not defined by a grade. you are smart and talented and hardworking and kind. those things extend beyond a test mark. you are more then just a test taker. what matters is that you are trying your best. I see the work you are putting in and that is more then enough. you keep making small steps towards your goals. and making those steps include taking time for yourself. its okie to go for a walk, take an afternoon off from studying, building in those breaks help you recharge and approach assignments with a better mindset. I am also a huge fan of lists, making plans and study sessions using a timer. sometimes the hardest part is starting.  im sorry to hear that other parts of your life are suffering as well. you are not alone in those struggles, we are here for you every step of the way <3

hii! i am in the same boat as you, and to be honest i didn't think there was anyone else who felt this way. i know how it feels to be swamped with a bunch of school work, and that feeling of motivation for a break.

like ive seen some other people say, don't worry about what others think and only worry about yourself. be proud of what you have accomplished and what you have done because in the end that's all that matters. maybe take a break when needed....maybe just five minutes to yourself because that is detrimental to your health......find something that is relaxing for you and do that.

i believe in you....and you can always reach out if you need a friend!

I believe one of the greatest misconception in our life especially the youth and teenagers we are made to believe that a less of a grade makes us lose much or if we fail then our future is doomed. The value is still within. If we make studying a quest for good grades forgetting to enjoy the process then this will hinder our a to quest for knowledge and understanding. Just know that every thing is about you. You are the main character in your life. Do what you can and be proud of the little accomplishments you gain. Parent pleasing and pressure will only lead you to being burnt out and not really enjoying living your life.

Thank you so so much. You have no idea how much that means to me, I really needed to hear that tonight! I’ve once had someone tell me that I didn’t matter too much except for my grades, so that really means a lot ! I hope that you are able to enjoy life without the stress of grades :)
