How to prioritize self care?

Hey everyone. I'm quite into self-improving, but I think I've neglected self-care. I'm always searching for ways to be productive and the best version of myself, which isn't a bad thing, but I think I've neglected self-care and as a result, my mental health is a bit strained because of this. Can anyone give me advice? Like what type of self-care there is/that can be done and how to prioritize that?

Take breaks from technology, social media, and work-related activities. Allow yourself time to unwind without any distractions.

Hey Vivi 😊

It's great that you're focused on self-improvement, but taking care of your mental health is equally important. How about mini breaks during the day for speaking with a friend or a quick stroll? Dive into activities that make you smile – whether it's a good book, your favorite tunes, or just chillin'. You may plan these self-care moments into your day, making them as important as your productivity goals. And they say, self-care is all about what makes you happy, so experiment with different things until you find your vibe. You got this!! ✨

I really like to schedule my self-care, which sounds kind of counterintuitive but I swear it works. I like to look at my calendar/planner and see where I have free time. I'll write in a period for self-care on a specific date for a specific amount of time. I like doing this because it becomes a commitment. I wouldn't skip out on a class or a doctor's appointment, so I can't skip out on myself care. Like if I'm doing homework at 4:45, but I have some self-care time scheduled in at 5, I know that I have 15 minutes of homework left before I have to put it away and totally focus on myself/my mental health.

@luckylistener your approach is spot on! Scheduling self-care is a fantastic way to prioritize yourself consciously.
