I wish I knew what loving and knowing myself meant.

@gentleWatermelon8652 Ooh. I've been there. It's kind of scary having to make a big decision, isn't it? But you'll be fine. I am certain of this. Do you feel like you have to pick a degree right away? Some people don't even go to college until later on. I know I waited a bit but it wasn't a choice for me. Every situation is different.

sounds like you are feeling overwhelmed and pressured to have everything figured out right now. moment. Many people don't know their path at 18 even if it seems like everyone else does. I also see that you are feeling scared, because there are so many opinions around you but the final decision feels like its yours alone. What are the some things that you have enjoyed or felt interested in, even a little?
You are not expected to have all the answers figured out today, one small step at a time is enough.

Hello! Thank you for sharing. I can imagine it wasn’t easy to say this, yet you found a way to do so, and I’m so proud of you. I can see how overwhelmed you are because of this situation, and I just want you to know that it’s completely normal and valid. You’re still young, and all these decisions feel like they’re huge steps we’re taking in life. You don’t need to have it all figured out now. You can start with little steps and begin defining what makes you happy and what are some things you enjoy and like. I hope you take things at a pace that feels good for you and give yourself the kindness you deserve.

I think I would be lying if I say that I don't know what it's like. We have all been there. You are very young. Take it one step at a time and you can try focusing on things that you like and see if you can build a career in it. You got it! Cheers! :)

@gentleWatermelon8652  this is an exciting time in life but it can also be very daunting to have to make these decisions that feel so big.  Many people now have multiple different careers within their life, and its very common to retrain or pursue a new path later on in life.  Even people who think they know exactly what they want right now might change their minds later, and also any decisions you make now don't have to be forever.  It sounds like you have supportive parents who don't want to push you in a direction that you aren't happy with, and you can take the time to think about what it is you want to pursue.

It sounds like you are feeling lost and confused because you don't know what your dreams are and with your parents and everyone else giving you different opinions while also saying that it is your choice, I can understand how that can feel even more confusing.

I hope you slowly figure out what you want to do but you don't have to figure everything out at once. Just take it one step at a time and give yourself sometime  to understand what you really want.
