I go with the majority: mentally and physically exhausted.

I am very grateful for a new pair of glasses that improved a lot my vision.

I like bitter coffee and tea, spicy sauces, salty food and sweet deserts.

❀How are you doing? Mentally? Physically? ❀

I am really struggling with worsening depression this past weekend, mainly due to loneliness and lack of support (lack of supportive family and friends). I had plans with three different people who all cancelled last weekend, so I had no plans and only studied. I also am struggling to have time to exercise and to go the grocery store because of the heavy workload of vet school and how behind I am.

❀What are you grateful for currently? ❀

I am grateful for the peer connect group I joined at my school, but it is almost over, and I feel like I only opened up like 10% with them and still don't feel that close to them.

❀What do you prefer? Sweet? Salty? Spicy? Sour?  ❀

Hmm, I am usually a sweet person, but then might have cravings for more savory/salty like a corndog or chicken wings or something haha

Hey dream! Thanks for joining our checkin this week, Its lovely to see you as always,

Im sorry to hear that you have been struggling lately. It can be hard when you have a lack of support and your friends keep canceling on plans. It can leave you feeling very isolated and lonely. That is so cool that you are in vet school, I didn't know that. It can be so hard to find a balance between work and school and life. Especially when you fall behind it can feel like there is no time to do anything but study and catch up. Its very overwhelming. despite the busy I hope you can schedule some time to take a break and recharge.

Im glad that you finally got a peer support group going at your school. It can be hard and take time to open up to new people, I hope that after the break you can continues and becomes a better support to you<3 *shares chicken wings and cupcakes :p*

Academically I am finishing up my paper for my fourth assignment. Plan on submitting it tomorrow. Only one assignment to go and this course will be finished and I will be done for the year. Physically and mentally I am doing pretty well I guess. Trying not to let little incidents get to me which is hard sometimes.

I am grateful for my pets even though they provide me some stress and challenges. I am also glad for my computer. Although I don't get to write creatively as much as I'd like, I am able to add a few lines here and there. And, depending on how wound up my puppy is, I can get a picture or two done.

What do I prefer? It depends on the context. I tend not to do a lot of snacks unless they are low sugar and I'm not a spicy food person unless it's spice like garlic. Hot peppers or chili powder, I don't do. Chocolate, I prefer it to be dark paired with anything from fruits, nut butter, mint, salted caramel, or even potato chips or corn chips (like the ritter sport).

I am glad to hear that life is going fairly well right now. I wish you the best of luck with all your assignements, Keep up that great work. I can relate to working on focusing on what we can control and not letting those little things mess up the day or get us down.  Aww I love dogs, I hope that you can spend some time this week writing and that you have a good week ahead *shares chocolate and corn chips*

@FaithfulZareia Thanks. It's a character name from a story I did back when I had more free time. I have two unfinished stories that I try to work on whenever I have a moment but those are becoming sparse.

Perhaps after I finish my last assignment and do some of the requirements for the honors society.

I'm still mentally and physically exhausted. I tried to rest over the weekend, this past weekend was a long weekend, 3 days off. I ended up staying up until 3 to 4am watching dramas Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Yesterday, Monday, I woke up at 11:30am, but I stayed up until 4am to finish a drama. The 2 dramas I watched over the weekend were good ones where I could let out my emotions. Some parts were funny, while others helped me shed tears.

Currently grateful that I have a lot of shifts, as it's a good way to save more money for the plans I have next year. But at the same time, I also feel physically tired because of all the work.

When I'm cooking my own meals, I tend to cook Korean style, so it'll be spicy. I'm not into sweets much, but will crave it once in a while. I'm also the dark chocolate type of person, and drink my coffee ☕. So, maybe I like bitter things? But then, I don't like bitter melon. Not sure if you know, but traditional Chinese medicine is usually bitter. But whenever I drank it in the past, I never found them bitter, rather a golden sweet flavor to it. But it's supposed to be bitter, there was this one type where both my mum and I tried, it was similar ingredients, she felt it was very bitter, and there I was, enjoying it like a normal sweet tea.

I just believe the flavor of bitter is nothing, compared to the emotional pain I've been through. Just the same with physical pain, my tolerance is high, because physical pain is nothing compared to emotional pain. At least, that is how I see it. So, maybe that's why, aside from the bitter melon, anything else that taste bitter doesn't seem that bitter to me.

Hey Jaeeee <3 lovely to see you as always, thanks so much for joining the checkin this week.

It sounds like you have been very busy lately with work. Sometimes staying up late to watch tv and dramas can be a nice break, even if they dont provide the best recharge for tiredness. I can relate to being thankful for work despite the mental and physical exhaustion it brings. sounds like a nice combo of foods! I love dark chocolate too. I hope you have a good week ahead jaaee

So, to be honest.. I have been literally exhausted, both mentally and physically.. The year is coming to an end, and so is a big part of my life... There are many hard choices I need to make and some big decisions need to be reflected upon. I have been trying my best to stay productive and make use of the time I have now, but it's still a struggle when it comes to motivation... Which I have lost somehow this year...

Though, I'm grateful for a lot of things.. So far, I got to celebrate my friends and my family.. I'm reconnecting with people, and have been enjoying the conversations with them. I am learning a lot about future aspects and I love the fact that I have so many cheerleaders in my life who provide me with unconditional support..

I love love love spicy and sour.. Tho to an extent... But, I keep finding myself enjoying a lot of sweets lately, chocolates have been a must literally...

Hey Taylor, lovely seeing you, thanks so much for joining our checkin in this week

im sorry to hear that things have been a bit challenging lately, It can be hard to make the big live choices and figure out where you wish your life to go. Those times can be full of stress and overweleness and alot of self refection. I hope that you find time to both reflect but take breaks and time to rest. I can also relate to the lack of motivation to this time of year. Its not easy to find the motivation. To-do lists and taking it small steps day by day is a start for me. That sounds really nice to have good supports that are in your life. Sometimes just having a conversation about life and the big choices you have to make can give you a new perspective. I hope that you have a great week ahead Taylor and find time to rest *shares chocolates with you*

Hey! Thank you for the lovely message. I do agree with all that you said, really. Thanks for looking out for my health, I know breaks are really important.. In fact I got the chance to recharge myself this week, and had a lot of good and informative conversations which really helped me out with clearing the air... To-do lists are really a good way to begin, I wish you with my best that you find that kick as well... I am also trying to get myself motivated by being productive in small tasks... *takes the chocolates and thanks you for it*

❀How are you doing? Mentally? Physically? ❀

Quite stressed. Too many things that need doing and not enough energy to do it - essays, cleaning, laundry. I want to exercise but have too many things to do already so I settle for the walking around campus to lectures. Physically... I have a doctor's appointment in two weeks, and it isn't routine, so probably not great? I'll wait and see.

❀What are you grateful for currently? ❀

My medicines which help me function and not die. Also, milk tea drinks - they sell them on campus and I have become rather obsessed to tell the truth!

❀What do you prefer? Sweet? Salty? Spicy? Sour?  ❀

Can be any of them, depends on the day. I'm not picky. As long as it's not an ultra extreme taste, especially for the last two, I'm up for it. Today I think I'm fancying something sweet.

It sounds like you have a long to do list and that its very overwhelming. It can be hard to know where to start. Sometimes it can be helpful to make a schedule and plan out your day so that you can make time for the things that recharge you while also planning time for those nessary tasks. Sounds stressful about your doctors appointment, I hope that goes well and you get good news. I hope that you have a great week ahead *shares brownies and cookies*

@FaithfulZareia

tanku for making such an amazing post, and i appreciate the existence of this check-in 💖

college has actually been going really well! the adjustment was fairly smooth and im doing super well in all my classes, and they are genuinely so fun. like for my engineering class, we're working a really big project, the last one for this class (as the classes last only a semester, or 16 weeks). we're making a egg launcher that will launch a hard boiled egg as far as possible, hopefully to a maximum of 25 feet! also, for my computer science class, im making a computer program that can be used to predict future stock projections, which is kinda complicated but rewarding at the same time. andddd, for my humanity credits, im taking this seminar class that combines a bunch of fields, like philosophy, writing, sociology, religion, and more. there are quite a few papers that we gotta write for that class, but im learning so much. as a matter of a fact, im about to submit my last paper for one of the classes in that seminar, and after getting it reviewed by my teacher, she said that it was really good! just gotta make a few edits by tuesday and ill be golden. itll be a great boost, since i didnt do *as* great on my first paper, so that is such a relief.

besides my studies, ive also made a whole bunch of friends! i have a tight group of friends who i can relate to, spend my free time with, and have such a good time and a nice laugh with. i also made friends in my classes too and im building up my social network with people in my major, those of whom have similar interests as me, and even with faculty members in the department of my major. my college campus is honestly so beautiful as well, with so much flora and fauna. it has improved my mental health so much, even though things at home have been sorta getting worse. my max concentration is when im in one of the eateries on campus, as the atmosphere feels so liberating and isnt constricting whatsoever. i can make my own decisions, make mistakes without judgment, learn from them, and keep moving forward. it fosters so much growth, and with each passing day, i am proud of the decision i made to apply!

bottom line is, things are going really great! and i cannot wait for what my academic career has in store for me in the near future :)
