Hi, side note, I'm liking your threads, thanks)

Well what I think about skill is:

Skill is the invisible power within each soul, i.e when you try something new and you feel you was born to do this, or you come out finishing the new task very good.

In this situations, your "skilled" in the matter at hand. But it's isn't limited in physical activities in example.

You could be skilled in: openness, listening, learning, apologizing/ accepting your mistake or trying to make the world a better place & more...

And skill isn't always being great at a specific activity, it could be "never surrendering"

Sorry for talking so much...

I agree with this, the real-world tests you on skills rather than about your ability to memorize information. I do think that focusing on academics can definitely optimize your access to learning these skills, as grades can tend to build a reputation. However, I do think that if you are determined enough to learn the skills, then you would be successful regardless.

I completely agree! Skills really do go beyond academics. In fact, I'd actually argue that the most valuable skills in life are not taught in the classroom. Things like listening, managing your time or navigating relationships are so essential for success in nearly any setting. I really love than in your post you included learning from failure - I think that one is super underrated sometimes. It's a vital skill that builds resilience and teaches you to adapt, reflect and grow, none of which come from getting everything right the first time.

Creativity and trust also really stood out to me. Creativity isn't only for art, as most of us think, it's about problem solving and seeing things differently. Trust also underpins so many other skills, like vulnerability, collaboration and leadership. Trust allows you to believe in yourself and work to the best of your ability.

This is an amazing post! Thank you for reminding us how rich and varied skills really are! <3
