Today we are celebrating international women and science day! Hands out slices of pizza and cake! 🍕🍰🍕🍰🍕🍰

Today, February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science! The United Nations recognizes this day to show the importance of women in science. This day is a magical celebration and a day to raise awareness that our world needs better access and participation in science for women.

The path that women take is a journey of breaking barriers and challenges. Historically, women’s contributions to science have often been overlooked and minimized. However, people like Marie Curie, Katherine Johnson, Rosalind Franklin, and Tu Youyou, have been breaking the boundaries and contributing to some of the most amazing discoveries.

There is a major gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) that women still face today. Women continue to be underrepresented in science fields, facing stereotypes, social and cultural expectations, and unequal opportunities throughout their careers.

Today let's celebrate and learn about the achievements of our world’s women scientists. Let's also use this day to discuss and address the ongoing challenges women in science face. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this important day.
