Hey! I posted this concern on Bible Chat, but basically I was doing really well with bible study with a girl I met through Clubhouse and we were learning a lot about the bible, but she made a comment in regards to me being with my boyfriend and us having sex although we aren't married. She basically said that because we aren't married and we plan to live together then we are sinners and she made me feel as if she didn't want to be bothered with me due to that being the case. She made the claim that we could study the bible together, however, we couldn't bring up relationships anymore. But, I told her that she was a hypocrite because she was having premarital sex herself and then married her husband so to tell me I should be celibate seemed to be from a very judgmental place. I still want to study the bible with her though because we were learning a lot together, however, it has been hard to reestablish the connection we had before, advice?

@sonnieeee

You most likely once establish the same connection again.

But I'm glad you stood up for yourself because ultimately she was being hypocritical and she has no right to judge in the first place.

Don't let her take away from your love of bible class 💚🤗

@sonnieeee

admit you both made mistakes

and make it a point to say that ,sex before marriage isnt a sin

the bible isnt set in stone ,the words of God can be interpreted and reinterpreted across time and space

so you can use the interpretation that sees the parts about debauchery ot in reards to premarital sex like many conservative preachers say

but in regards to cheating and affairs outside of relationships, as ancient scholars had put forth

and well try

if god wills it you two will get back together

we are all humans and we make mistakes

Yes, we have been able to move on from it, I really appreciate this 🤞🏽

I’m glad you both were able to move past from it. This is a pressing issue, that has divided many. We all have a past, while different from others. The fact, that you both could voice, differing in opinions and still move past it. I’m very proud of that. Something, I hope to find in seeking out others to study, the Bible with.

I know we are to be pure and to keep one wife for one man. Vice versa. But, overall, so many fell short of the glory of lord. David, summoned bathesheba, to lay with her. And his son married, an army of women 😮✨. It’s hard to deal, with judgements imposed on us, upon reading scripture. And so. I say this, as someone, who’s accepted Christ in the recent years, but was lukewarm prior. Many, individuals will, overstep and claim to be in your best interest. That is not always the case. I’ve had classmates, girls in my class, of similar backgrounds marry straight out of high school and choose to be home makers and or go into technical careers. While these backgrounds are fulfilling. It seemed, these girls were mainly following rules imposed on them. Many of these girls, were in the same classes as me, advanced classes, taking the college entrance exams at preteens with me and later on doing the same. It’s very scary, to think, as the now husband of one of them, had approached me to preach, but immediately invoked fear. The same, fear I believe invoked of his now wife and children. It’s true that, Jesus will come to judge the living and the dead. But, many forget that he began with love, understanding, and compassion. Sorry again to, make this long. I wish you all the best, in studying and being convicted of the word. Galatians 5-22-23
