Prayer is healthy

I've been reading about how prayer, especially meditative prayer, is something that is psychologically healthy to do and I'm trying to increase my slowing down, being quiet.  I've been using Lectio365 App to help with that.  But do others have suggestions on how you pray and how it affects your mental health?

@vowedmama

Prayer grounds me.

I love it.

I pray before the Blessed Sacrament, I love music, candles, the melody just soothes me 💕💜

Prayer is a remarkable practice that is helpful for mental health, just like most forms of meditation. Prayer can be a great mindfulness practice, but sometimes it's challenging to focus with intrusive thoughts trying to create distractions. An excellent tool for prayer that has been effective in helping me fight that. Prayer beads are great for grounding, as they keep you mindful and focused, thanks in large part to the tactile sensation of holding them. Several world religions incorporate prayer beads for this reason. I use Anglican prayer beads, also referred to as the Anglican Rosary. Holding the beads as I pray tunes me into the moment and significantly enhances my concentration. There are miraculous powers in the combination of faith and prayer. Prayer is also a contemplative practice. Additionally, it is always beneficial to have a direct one-on-one conversation with the Lord. If you ever need one-on-one support or just someone to talk to, my door is always open.

God's peace be with you.
