thinking about rest
As this season of life is getting very busy, I am thinking about rest. Real, restorative rest. It can be so incredibly easy to get done with something and get right onto my phone because that feels like rest, but I know from times when I do things that fill me up, that can be a fun thing, but it shouldn't be my primary form of rest as it tends to be. For me, things like crafting, reading, and even exercising are things that help me rest for real. In addition to that as Christians, we know that God calls us to him, and he says he will give us rest. As I get busy I tend to stop reading my Bible as much or praying as much, and while it feels like it makes sense cause I am tired or I don't feel like it, rest has a spiritual aspect to it, because God has made us with the need for him, so we need to be coming back to him, even, possibly especially when we are stressed, busy, or tired.
@CoffeeLovingRoyal yes indeed💖 life can get in our way internet can get in our way, but there needs to be time to do the things that really matter💖 if your starting to get lost or off track, that's the time to step back stop doing what your doing and start to appreciate the little things that makes your heart smile again, do the things that being you peace 💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 it's ok to take a break when needed💖
Hi there! I just found this group. What you said is me right now. I turn to my phone instead of prayer and the Bible. I have ADHD, so I chase whatever will give me a quick hit of dopamine, but those things don't really benefit me long term, and don't make me feel rested. You gave me a good reminder to seek the rest that comes from God, and not the things of this world. I just don't always know how to, though. I get bored so easily.
