Blowing bubbles provides an opportunity to teach yourself deep breathing techniques that are useful in reducing anxiety.

As an adult, bubble blowing can also be great fun and even offer health benefits. A pursed-lip exhale more thoroughly exhausts the air in your lungs, leaving more room for fresh inhaled air. This can lead to better circulation in the respiratory system.

Participation question:

Have you ever practised bubble breathing as a child and can you remember some of the feelings it caused in you?

Have you ever felt you were in a stressful situation and you let out a big breath through pursed lips?

If so, what did you feel like after doing that?

Sure! I have grandkids, dogs and cats. I practice this rather often, but always outside

I find that I am not blowing bubbles like when there with children around, but I do blow off steam with pursed lips when I am anxious and stressed. It helps.

@soulsings

Letting of the steam in a healthy way is far better than "cooking inside"!

I hear that splashing cold water on your face or plunging your face into it also helps

@amiablePeace77 never thought of that one but that seems like a very good idea actually. Breathing exercise for anxiety just in a different form.

@wittySky4796

There are so many ways we can learn to reduce anxiety if we take the time to explore them.

I had a huge bubble blower before and took some very close pictures of the bubbles.
