Developing a culture of care

Why it matters more than ever to foster a culture of care!

We are living in a fast-paced world increasingly driven by deadlines which makes many of us feel there is hardly any time for self-care.  Creating a culture of care seems to be far away but this shift in thinking is exactly what we need right now. Our youth are suffering from the ripple effects of the constant hustle and bustle surrounding them. Mental illnesses are on the rise and young people are dropping out of jobs.  New figures showed that one in four young people in England have a mental health condition.

Here are some examples of the benefits of practising compassion:

  • Compassion interacts with social support to buffer against physiological reactivity to stress

  • Compassion interventions promote social connection

  • Compassion is associated with improved parent-child relationships

  • Self-compassion buffers the impact of stress via self-kindness and positive cognitive restructuring

  • Self-compassion is associated with positive aging

  • Self‐compassion is related to increased well‐being

Participation questions:

How do you think we can foster a culture of care in you to benefit everyone?

How can we grow a culture where compassion isn’t an add-on but the foundation, what steps can you take?

Seeking Help

Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

@amiablePeace77

How do you think we can foster a culture of care in you to benefit everyone? We need to have compassion for ourselves to forgive ourselves for our mistakes so we can let go of our grudges with others.

How can we grow a culture where compassion isn’t an add-on but the foundation? We need to cherish others and their happiness as much as we cherish our own.

What steps can you take? First is having regret for mistakes we made and do things to make amends in our mind. Finally make the resolve not to commit the action again or for a certain period of time.

@soulsings

Holding grudges with someone never ends in something positive.

@amiablePeace77 we can foster a culture of care by being less:

Individualistic.

More compassionate.

More caring.

Listen more.

Be less self indulgent.

More empathetic.

More considerate 💜🥰
