Mindful Eating

Being mindful of the food you eat can promote better digestion and help your stomach feel full by eating less food. The stomach takes 10 or more minutes after you finish eating to register how full it is, so eating slower allows us to better gauge how full the stomach is. Drinking water or hot tea with a meal can also help too.

You can also develop wiser choices about what you eat in the future which can help you free yourself from unhealthy habits like mindless snacking with junk food.

Seeking Help

Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination, worries and unhealthy overeating which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

@amiablePeace77

How can mindfulness help you with eating? I can feel gratitude for all the kindness of the people who helped provide the food I eat.

What are some unhealthy habits around eating that you would like to free yourself of?

Eating too fast and thinking about other things like the news.

@soulsings

There are so many people in the food chain to be grateful for!

"Eating too fast and thinking about other things like the news". Sounds familiar to me soul. Something that really helped me was practising mindful eating and also eating with chop sticks to eat slower as well as putting on calming music whilst eating.
