@BarbaraLefdalLPC great advice. When I am feeling grief on this Father's Day in US, it is hard to think of what to work on. So I am here answering posts, helping others. It is another way to think of myself.
I guess there are many says to self care. What are some that you share with people?
I am very sorry for your loss. Grieving is hard work. I applaud your self care decisions. I usually encourage good sleep hygiene, good nutrition and moderate exercise. Those are the basics. Next, I recommend a variety of stress management techniques. Meditation is very helpful. Mindfulness is a useful tool. Those are all sort of generalizations when I’m working with clients, I do make my suggestions more personalized. Hope this helps. Take care.
@BarbaraLefdalLPC those are helpful suggestions. Thank you for those.
Fortunately I do some of those and they do help me avoid getting in a low spot. I just think putting one foot in front of the other is important.

Thank you for this lovely reminder! I agree and its completely important to focus on self first before getting into assisting others.

I like this Barbara! Often we do not make ourselves a priority in life so this is a very useful reminder.

Thank you so much for this reminder! We all know that at times we need to make ourselves a priority but then again somehow forget it so getting a reminder is always welcome!
