I am totally unaware nor sensitive to the needs of my body. 😩. I do the things I do, such as eating right, sleeping well, and sorta exercising, because of my mental health and less body needs. I’d like to be more aware of what my body needs and am working on it in therapy. 😊

@yzzil

I'm glad that you got help to become aware of your needs so that they are no longer neglected in future and can cause you harm.

My body awareness is almost as bad as my mental awareness. I often don't eat until I notice the pang of hunger.

@Gettingbettertoday

It must be rough for your body to run without enough nutrition for a longer time, especially what concerns getting enough liquid. Saying well hydrated (before you actually notice thurst) can also help with our state of mind. Have you considered to follow an eating/drinking schedule?

The goal is more movement and sleep 💤 and eat healthier … 57lbs gone and another 40 to go. I track everything with apps Apple fitness and the lose it app … I feel much much better now. The winter is tough for walking and being sick has been tough … but only couple months the snow will be gone … hiking trails open again …

@SunShineAlwaysGrateful

Congratulations to your weight loss of 57 lbs!  Great idea to use apps! They can be really helpful to track things. I'm glad that you feel better and hope you soon can get back outside to hike.

Knowing one's body to the extent that one feels a need to do something about it comes with experience and usually in the late 20s. Unfortunately, family and work do have to be prioritized at times. The whole thing is a balance.

@Fradiga

I hear you. Life can become very busy and demanding and one needs to give priority to others for a while but it's very important to make up for it as soon as possible to regain balance.

@KateDoskocilova

It must feel scarey to realize that things are getting out of control in your life! This is a link to a self help guide about time management, I hope it helps. https://www.7cups.com/path/playlist/first-things-first-by-stephen-covey-under-construction/

I would say I’ve became more aware then I was previously, I now practice self care, which I never have before,

I sleep better than before

i go for a walk daily

and make sure to take my medication.

I hope everyone is well.

I think my daily commitments are more important than me.  I feel like I have to get everything done before I can relax otherwise I think about the next thing I have to do.

@Harmony8682

Sorry that you find it so difficult to relax. Do you feel that you're setting very high standards for yourself and that you might benefit from adjusting them?

Maybe, it's like if I know I have stuff to do what needs to be done in a certain time frame I can't stop thinking about it until it's gone. Suppose I don't like failing so that maybe a issue. Yes,  I need to change this mindset as it is impacting on my relationship at home. Any suggestions?

I’m exactly the same. If I come out my routine I don’t like it much. It flares my anxiety.

as much as I want to be sensitive to the needs of my body, I prioritize my daily commitments because I believe it's an essential path to success. I need to take care of my mental and physical health more often; acknowledge the improvements I have made instead of focusing on the negative things.

Acknowledging the improvements you have made instead of focusing on the negative things sounds good and helps with positive thinking! Neurons that fire together wire together!
