@amiablePeace77. I ensure I get enough quality sleep by giving myself enough time to get in the hours that help me, I listen to sleep stories, and I write my therapist before bed to get rid of any left over stress from the day.
@yzzil awwww ❤ great tips ❤
@amiablePeace77
If one has no particular night rumination (which is something I had trouble with a long time), nothing beats a well-made bed with freshly laundered sheets. Make lists for the next day, go through the bathroom and other routines (take your pills, walk the dog, set your alarm, decide what to wear the next day) early in the evening to be more ready when it is time to go to bed.
This said, I often take a sudoku, a crossword puzzle or reading material to bed. When I notice I'm not paying attention, it's time to turn off the light.
@Fradiga
Good to hear that you're not suffering from night rumination anymore! I find keeping the mind busy with sudoku so there is no space of negative thoughts is a great way to prevent rumination and of course a freshly made bed! 😀
@amiablePeace77
Well, that's the thing usually. People are tired enough, but their minds race instead of quieting down. This is why it helps to prepare yourself early and for the next day as well, so you do not have to carry as much mental load. It's a good idea to know what makes you sleep better or faster. I've noticed when I was much younger that when I stayed again at my parents' place, I was sleeping a lot faster and longer. Now my son does this too when he stays at my house. Photos of family members or your favourite idol might also comfort you, not to mention stuffed animals, pets or another human being.
@Fradiga wow! No wonder you sleep well, that all sounds exhausting😲❤
Reading before bedtime has been helping a lot rather than being on my phone and scrolling endlessly on the internet for stupid things. Just a good old-fashioned paperback book and with 20 minutes of reading I'm relaxed and ready to nod off.
@thoughtfulmomma yep! No technology before bed ❤❤❤

How can you ensure that you get enough quality sleep at night?
- I like to ATTEMPT ensuring enough of sleep time by laying down 1-2 hours early before my bedtime,
- Dark as possible,
- A fan and/or heater going for sound and temperature.
- Even sometimes, I listen to ASMR to help with going to sleep and limit cellphone usage!

@warmMemory6263 good tips ❤❤
@amiablePeace77 avoid caffeine😱😱 that's crazy talk😱😱😱😂😂😂😂
Tip 1= make sure you have used the potty
Then put on some relaxing lights, light some candles (safely, put out before getting to sleepy)
Turn on a little table top fountain, that's make a a sweet trickling water sound
Relaxing music is a must
then take sleeping pills
and wallah! Your asleep😁
@Tinywhisper11
Great ideas, however, I just like to replace the sleeping pills with a meditation or bedtime story for adults. I understand though sometimes sleeping pills are required.
@amiablePeace77 fair point ❤❤
