When we feel with our hearts, instead of just thinking with a mind full of preconceptions, we become more open and can appreciate everyone's individually no matter what race, gender identity or financial status they have.

Why is it important to show our love for others instead of judging them for who we think they are?

That's a tricky question because of the end of it.

Why is it important to show our love for others instead of judging them for who they are?

If you add this highlighted prepositional phrase to the sentence, it means you have already got some negative judgment about them.

I would not necessarily show "love" to anyone unless I am close to them. I mostly show that I am friendly if the situation allows. Otherwise, keeping one's cool and showing you're neutral is the way to go if the other person is out of their mind.

In any event, showing love is not important in my mind. Understanding is.

@Fradiga

Nice that you stay friendly in situations or at least neutral. The kinder we are to each other the warmer the world feels.

I have no problem with being kind and friendly and caring and all that with everyone but once you judge me or take advantage of me and stuff like that I’m gone and you’ve lost me. Your loss. Not mine.

@akunknown

Setting boundaries and maintaining them is important to protect yourself.

@amiablePeace77

While I agree with setting and maintaining boundaries to protect yourself, some people violate your boundaries so it’s not enough. I’ve been dealing with those types of disrespectful people.

@akunknown

I am very sorry that you have/had to deal with boundary violators. Some people just don't accept a "No" so, if possible, it can be better to keep a good distance to them.

@amiablePeace77:

Exactly! That’s why I’ve been keeping my distance from those people as much as possible. It’s funny that if they say no to you they expect you to accept it and get angry or stressed out or complain if you don’t yet when you say no to them they don’t accept it no matter how many times you say it or explain why you said it.,

@amiablePeace77 you wrote "Why is it important to show our love for others instead of judging them for who they are?"

I would rewrite it to say

Why is it important to show our love for others instead of judging them for who we think they are?

When I look at people and think I see them, I realize later that was a product of my bias and previous experiences, not who they really are. To love one must first see that someone has common ground with me such as they want to be happy and want to be free of suffering.

@soulsings

Good point soul and thanks for your idea to rewrite the question.  We all want to be happy and free of suffering. It is a universal desire.

ok i have vary strog feeligs about this  one because of persoal things,

you should always love some one no mattr what you think of them at first as what if you misjuged someone and you never got to kow them then tey endthere life or feel hopeless because of no oe likeing them and everyone jugeing them based on what they thik the perso is like cus just because they are difretly abled doseot mea they deserve to be judged because of there "disibiliy" if you thik someone is dumb because twy have somting like say autisum then you are a borderline bully as if you hate and bully someone ust because they are diffrent fom you that is stupid and meand and you never nwo what a person is going though unless you get to know them and ask or they tell you what is going on that is why i try to love everyone or at least not uuge them based on what others say or what i see as a kid could be a totle deliqwint in scghool and be the niceset person ever and just have issues with being soile or have home life and a kid can be quite in school and be the meanest person or the nicest you bnever know unless you at least try to get to know them you will never truly know what someone is going though i try to show kindness to everyone no matter what even if they have been erks to me i still try to how kindness

What you wrote reminds me "Never judge a book by it's cover". We can cause so much harm so I try to give everyone the benefit of doubt.

@amiablePeace77 In most cases I don't think we ever fully know enough about someone to pass judgement. They could be dealing with things that we're not aware of or don't fully understand. And depending on the situation and circumstances we can often project our flaws onto them

One of the reasons is that people don’t deserve to worry that their mistakes are going to be used for other people’s future preconceptions that harm their gender or race or ethnicity or religion or group with a disability or generation or other group.

@TheComedianDreamer

When we allow preconceived notions to impact how we interact with people we might never see the true person in front of us but just a construct of our mind which is very sad.
