Exercise anyone?
When you exercise, your body releases feel-good chemicals. In addition exercise helps divert your mind from negativity, channeling that energy elsewhere.
- What kind of exercise routine do you currently follow?

@soulsings
I do 10 minutes exercises 3 times a day as well as nitric oxide dump exercises (4 min.) after I've been sitting for 2 hours. It seems to help my brain to stay better alert and generally also improves my well-being especially the morning 10 minutes which help to get into a better mood for the day.
I don't have an exercise routine. I think it would be helpful. Consistency in anything is a struggle. I hope I can get into walking and perhaps yoga.
@Zeraphim walking and yoga are good.
I do Adrieene's complete beginner yoga and five minute Tai Chi which is more like breath and movements both free n youtube.
@soulsings
I used to do that type of yoga too, Soul! :)
There was a time (say 100 years ago) when no particular exercise was needed because we moved around a lot and food generally was natural rather than industrial. Stairs, no elevators, a zillion things you had to walk to (different shops, post office, administration and banks), laundry by hand, lifting wood or coal for heat, no wheels for our bags, no remote, a lot of hand-crank machines...
We now have so many conveniences now that physical effort has become something we do on purpose.
@Fradiga
You made some good points Fradiga. So many things have become easier which is really good for people who can't walk stairs or lift heavy but it also bears the risk that those who are still able choose the way of comfort like an elevator instead of working their legs.
@amiablePeace77
I agree all the more that the elevators are often the first thing you see, while the stairs are hidden behind some (fire) doors and the Feng-shui setup really make those stairs unwelcoming too. They resonate so much you see videos of quartet choirs singing there. No comfort, no art or mirrors, harsh lights....
@soulsings Thank you for this post. It was a very 🌟 Active 🌟 Post!
- What kind of exercise routine do you currently follow?
I don't have an exercise routine but I love to use my treadmill for like 30 minutes every day.
- If you do not have an exercise routine, how do you feel that exercise could be beneficial to you?
Exercise would be beneficial for me to become healthy again probably. Since I have PCOD there isn't a cure for this yet. (as my doctor suggests) So they just ask me to change my lifestyle choices without even properly investigating or being interested in asking about my lifestyle properly.
@ThoughtsBubbleExpress I find youtube exercise can give me diversity and interest and variety. I like Adrienne complete beginnners yoga and five minute Tai Chi for energy and movement with just a little Tai Chi. Both on youtube and free
That's really nice, I've tried yoga for like 5 years when I was little and I used to be the best in yoga in my school as I was flexible than my other classmates who bragged that they've been practicing yoga everyday since childhood but were surprised to see me doing better than them 😅
@soulsings
This is a great thread! I have a regular exercise routine now which I love. I do a combination of yoga, tai chi and pilates in an exercise class called Body Balance. I love it! I also do more traditional forms of yoga too and walking. It helps me to stay balanced, focused and healthier and once you get into the routine it becomes so much easier.
It is great to hear how you and everyone else keeps healthy!
@soulsings
1.5 hours of workout everyday (6 days a week atleast and sometimes 7) including cardio and strength training.
@HibernatingChestnut wow that sounds very intense. How do you feel after that?
@soulsings
some days I feel tired.. but otherwise it’s always a nice feeling. I feel more in control, more confident..satisfied and kind of all set for the time ahead. ❤️ Feeling of contentment is a great feeling.
@HibernatingChestnut I hear you.
Even a half hour walk makes me feel energized.
@soulsings
thats true! ❤️
Not actively engaged in exercise or workouts presently due to work commitments, but I make a point to do basic full-body stretching once or twice a day. While I wanna to do more, this routine is helping me with my mobility and maintaining my current level of fitness.
@soulsings
- If you do not have an exercise routine, how do you feel that exercise could be beneficial to you? it would help me build strength. i am thinking of soon re-starting a consistent workout routine.
I possibly work out too much, Souls. I spend around 2 hours a day at the gym (Monday-Friday) usually compiling Ashtanga yoga, kickboxing, some weight training and stretching.
I'm very sensitive to energy so standing close to people freaks me out. Kickboxing helps with my sensitivity and I can be in closer proximity to people now without having to spend a tonne of energy on trying to keep calm. (Still start to freak out though if there's someone I'm attacked to too close by)(I'm working on it 😆)
Yoga, I got into to help with a bad back injury. I was told I'd need steroid injections and surgery but have managed to manage the pain by stretching some areas and strengthening others, and have gone from being almost crippled and partially immobile to being able to do handstands and all manner of things.
Most Fridays I take my son to work out and most Saturdays we go for a long walk to get out into nature.
Sometimes I think I'm overdoing things and creating stress as I'm often struggling with triggers. But a lot has changed and I'm not struggling as much as I used to, I'm starting to experience normality at times and breaks in hearing voices the voices. The next step for me is to start to feel more comfortable around being approached by someone I'm attracted to. I'm not quite sure how but I'm getting there.
How are you, Souls, how are Thai Chi and yoga going? I've been meaning to attend yin/passive yoga classes lately to help me reconnect with myself.
@Sasher you sound like you have a routine that helps you keep stable. That is a great place to start.
I have done some hard martial arts but most of what I do is Tai Chi (movement and energy) and Qi Gong (stationary). These help me ground the energy and relax the body and not put tension into it. These two programs are ones that can be added on to increase energy awareness and grounding.
5 minute Tai Chi https://youtu.be/cEOS2zoyQw4?si=vkdVQCZXwSBAJSCD
Qi Gong https://youtu.be/JHQmY2sLhbI?si=xV06e1uWTezZYtdQ
So if you feel the kickboxing is too hard on your body you may do less of that and more of the ones above. If you need more yoga to do at home there are many options here https://www.youtube.com/@yogawithadriene/videos
I try to listen to my body and if it hurts I scale back an activity. If it leaves me exhausted I do less of it. If it makes me imagine an enemy to be defeated I opt for somethiong that does not feed the idea of an enemy.
Before I got in a long term relationship, I have searched for someone to be in a relationship with but that was a very difficult place to start from. I think the best thing I did was to accept that I am complete and happy myself and I cannot get anymore happiness than I already have from another person. By not seeing the other person as the source of my happiness, there is less pressure to try to say and do the "right" thing. Now I can be myself more. And that is a lot more relaxed.
@Soulsings thank you for your supportive words.
It sounds like yoga, Thai chi and qiqong are going well. I'm glad you get to enjoy them 😊
I'm the same as you in that respect. If I'm finding anything too demanding on my body, I dial it back. I worry I overdo things in terms of being out in society (dealing with triggers) - but saying that I get triggered as soon as I go out generally anyway. I guess it's something I just have to deal with.
It's very interesting to hear your perspective and I'm glad you've found your calmer place in life. I'm sure I'll get there too.
For sure a relationship isn't going to be a source of anyone's happiness but relationships definitely go a long way to healing and strengthening things like love, and bonds etc. Personally I'm stuck trying to overcome hurdles related to post traumatic stress and actually developing a relationship with someone. I feel like I'm going to collapse if a guy comes anywhere near me. I'm sure I'll get past all this one day and pray that God works through me which is helping me relax.
I really hope you're able to prioritise your needs wherever they are in need of prioritising, Souls 🤍
@Sasher I think very sensitive people pick up on the vibrations of others in public places and it can be a little intimidating. Hope yoo find work arounds.
@Soulsings thanks. I understand how you feel and am sorry about the suffering you experience.
I hope my work around to be healing childhood trauma to feel whole so I don't feel like so much of a sponge. To get married so I have a healthy, trusting, relationship and have some healthy protection in life, and someone to plan with and talk to to figure life out together.
