Succession comes in many different forms and is accomplished many different ways. We’re trained or you could say taught if you want to believe that having a fancy life, all these materialistic things (house or multiple houses, cars, money, etc), having a high paid job, things like that which will eventually be gone in more ways than one. For example you can lose your job by being fired, laid off, etc. To me, that’s fake success that society worships to the point where they try so hard bc they’re desperate to reach it. That’s just another way society unknowingly or without care shows off its brain cancer and cognitive decline.

To me real success is being happy. I mean happy for real. Things like loving, appreciating, respecting and accepting yourself and everything that makes you who you are no matter what anyone else thinks and not caring what anyone else thinks, never giving up no matter what, overcoming things that are difficult, being healthy, being authentic with yourself and everyone and not trading yourself to pretend to be someone you’re not just so you’ll “fit in” and be popular, making yourself your #1 priority, being there for others when you said you’d be there or if they need someone at that time, and other healthy non materialistic things like that. Friends or something more with someone else is a great “side success” as I like to call it. Some people will believe you need friends and there’s nothing wrong with believing that but if you’re gonna have people in your life, if you can balance your life out so you’ve devoted enough time to your friends while having enough you time, then that’s also a part of the real success to me. However some people don’t feel like they need anyone as they’re happy by themselves and I don’t see any problem with that either as long as they choose to live without friends.

The point in everything I’ve said above is as long as you’re truly happy with yourself and your life then you’ve achieved real success if you ask me. I don’t have money, a job, my own place, or any real life in person friends (except for myself) I am still happy.

Am I 100% happy? No not at the moment bc of the struggles and stress I’m living with along with having little to no sleep every night but the fact that I’m not giving up and am continuing on despite that and everything I’ve overcame and being my best friend is enough to make me as happy as I am and bc that’s more than I was in the past it makes me feel good that I’m still happier now than I used to be despite my current struggles.

@communicativePond1728 I retired and joined 7 Cups as a listener. It gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment that made the transition from the working world that much easier.

I haven't succeeded yet.

I haven't failed yet either.

I don't blame others for my inadequacies.

I don't believe financial success is a measure of success but I do believe financial security gives us the freedom to make choices that can improve our and other people's lives. That would be my definition of personal success. When we are struggling financially, it is very easy to struggle socially, emotionally and morally to the point of seeking easy solutions, and feeling like a failure at every turn.

I guess it is a form of success to know I am not going to give up. I will admit setbacks can be crippling at times but currently I refuse to accept failure.
