I felt proud when

I do not always feel proud of my accomplishments, but sometimes I like to at least acknowledge that I worked hard and succeeded in making progress and even sometimes accomplishing what I set out to do.

  • I felt proud when…

The example that comes to my mind is when I became a 7 Cups listener. I really felt like I could help people and it gave me a good feeling.

Hello,

I’ve been having a really amazing time at my job. I work on so many interesting things having to do with all types of people and organizations. We have been having those big meetings where I have been able to partake in some really interesting and deep conversations about the lives of some of the people we are working with. I feel like I have been very confident in these meetings and I have been doing a really good job responding to people and having ideas. I know I have great ideas and when I’m confident I can feel our meetings as a team become even more productive then they could be. I’ve been starting to feel very unconfident in these meetings. Someone asks me something, I’m not ready to answer and I don’t listen to the full answer. I go to my bosses and ask them the same question and am not entirely sure what the question even was. When I don’t have a correct answer or a full answer for these people, who need the correct answer to make real decisions, I fall apart mentally inside.

I could use some love today from this thread. It really tears me up inside when I lose my confidence like this. I wish it wouldn’t happen.

I am feeling proud because I have made huge strides with the anxiety:

I am about to complete my 5 week leave of absence from work. That was one of the hardest things I had to do for self care for my emotional well being. The anxiety got to the point I was in a vicious circle.

I felt trapped, defeated and hopeless, that anxiety had control of me and was never going to let me go. It got the point I was missing work constantly, and if I showed up to work, I ended up leaving work early. I had to do something. I had to get control back of my life.

I met with my counselor weekly during this time. I have made some huge strides in healing from the emotional traumas caused by past jobs. I even spoke with my former boss of the last job. Even though she had a different perspective of things, I didn't care. I at least confronted the person and that was healing for me.

I am returning to work on a part time schedule to ease my way back into it. To give my subconscious time to get the message that I am safe working there.

I am so proud of myself for pushing through this . I feel more equipped to handle any future anxiety attacks and that it will be controlled once again instead of uncontrolled.

@Angels2022 yes it sounds like you’ve calmed down more than you would have ever expected and in a shorter amount of time than thought too! 5 weeks is a long time but such a short amount of time when it comes to how much healing you needed to go through. Don’t forget to keep practicing your coping skills daily. I know you’ve come a long way in 5 weeks or more, but keep pushing it and make sure you do something you enjoy daily Angels2022!!! That makes a huge difference even if it doesn’t feel like you deserve to enjoy yourself.

And healing past work traumas can be very difficult and take a very long time. I’m so glad you got through it and took the right steps within such a short amount of time of those few weeks you took a Leave of Absence. You knew your limitations and you took a break. Good job, you should be totally proud of that!!!!!
