- Have an 'exit' plan , with $$ to help through the transition.
- How did it influence the relationships you have now?
- My current relationship is online - no money traded or talked about. We are both free to live our lives..........

I learned that physical distance doesn't necessarily mean things are over. I should not have abandoned hope and stopped communicating. It was cruel, and I'm truly sorry. I should have seen things through. We could have shared our pain and grown from it.
@cyanessence breakups are difficult and my own instinct has been to run away. I like your idea of staying and facing the pain.

Sometimes you must run in order to find yourself. There is much to gain from addressing your pain with an open mind and honest heart. In one's own time though, we all have our unique pace.
Love yourself first and look for happiness within instead of trying to find those things in relationships with others. Also trust and respect needs to be earned over time through actions, because they always speak louder than words. Just my two cents :)
@adorableGrace87 I try to find fulfillment in a spiritual practice that inspires me to cherish the relationships I do have, hopefully without grasping at them believing someone else is necessary for me to be happy.
