@soulsings

Positive self talk helps me a lot to get out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I also make an assessment of what could happens and what to do then.

@Tinywhisper11 I am fine with you not going outside your comfort zone. No problem.

If you do not mind me asking, what happens when you encounter a situation at 7 Cups that is beyond what you normally feel comfortable with?  This may be a time where you do go outside your comfort zone.

@souls oh yeah! When I upset someone on cup s, especially with my humour. I also get upset and really down for a day or two. But then I bounce back😁 cause I realise I'm doing my best, and that's good enough.

if there's any drama though, I choose to stay out of it completely. I don't like drama.

@soulsings

What are some strategies that help you to step out of your comfort zone?

Resignation, optimism, curiosity, confidence.....

There again, "comfort zone" is a new way to describe an old feeling.

@Fradiga ooo! I have those, I'm optimistic and curious. And confident.. Well sometimes. I don't know what resignation means. So does that mean I step out of my comfort zone in those areas🤔🤔

@soulsings

Yes, she must have chosen her battles. There are things one can resign oneself to and others that are worth some effort

This is an interesting thread @Soulsings! When I step outside of my comfort zone, I use my own prior knowledge of events to guide me and help to calm my nerves. I also use positive affirmations and visualisations to help me through stepping outside my comfort zone. I try to visualise a positive outcome for an event that is causing me to feel anxious and this I find useful.

Feeling better starts with a single message. Check out my profile and reviews.

@soulsings I am VERY HIGHLY self consious of my looks. When I take a picture of me, where i feel pretty, like this one, it helps me step out of my comfort zone and be more confident.img-20240418-100103_1713452901.jpg

@soulsings My anger, when people annoy or irritate me to do something or to prove them wrong I do it. So I like proving them wrong, and it builds up my motivation.

@PurpleFlower40 I hear you. Anger gives me a blown up feeling of power in the moment.

The problem I have with anger is afterwards I feel depleted and or my mind is trying to justify my behavior. And the person I explode onto usually pulls back and maybe even stop being so friendly. I am starting to ask myself if that moment of exhiliration is worth all the consequences that follow.
