Relapse and New start
I made it 13 days PMO free. Last night relapsed. I had posted here on the site that I was feeling tempted at work and that translated into the night. I had a big hike today planned and I used that as an opportunity to sleep in a different bed because of the early wake up, and that opportunity away from my wife gave me the chance. I should’ve made better decisions and just slept in my normal bed, and if I’m being completely honest, it is not overly difficult to see why I relapsed. I’m trying not to feel too down about it because 13 days is the longest street that I’ve had in quite a while and I fully intend to start a new streak today that goes for even longer. I can’t let the fact that I relapsed ruin what was a very good and healthy streak and I’m going to stay positive. Day 1 (again, and that’s ok!)

I was better of when I stopped counting the streaks... or how long...
But man, that is awesome... that is truly great, u doing well! It is a part of the journey, never ever be discouraged or ashamed or giving up. U walk different life, different journey now! God bless u
@courteousHickory2679 It's okay. I know a relapse can feel really discouraging, but the fact that you're here, and the fact that you're trying, matters. It reflects how much you truly care about changing. Remember, this doesn't erase all the progress that you've made until now.
Be gentle with yourself 💖 You're not alone. It's not a straight path, but we're aware of that, and It's what helps us learn, and grow. Sending you all my love and *hugs* 🐾💕

Excellent recovery!
I'm so sorry to hear of your relapse, but I'm happy to hear that you recognized the cause and most importantly, that you got back up and you're at it again. In recovery we might slip up a few times here and there, but what's more important is that you get back up. In Alcoholcs Anonymous, we have 24 hour chips. You get them after being sober for 24 hours. If you hear people with a lot of sobriety speak, sometimes they will joke about how many 24 hour chips they got until things clicked.
As an addict, I understand addiction and accountability. If you need someone to be accountable to, I'm here.
