i have a more positive attitude when I think about being a dog mom. They make me so happy. I also try to remind myself of the growth I’ve made, emotionally/mentally in the last 7 years. I’m a different person and it’s helpful to remember!!
@yzzil
How many fur kids to you have? 😀
Wonderful that you can look back at the past 7 years in such a positive way!
@amiablePeace77
i have two wonderful fur babies!!! Love them!!

I happen to have some opinion about this just because I come from a hyper-rural region (of France) where people do not see their outlooks as negative or positive. We hear a lot of "C'est comme ça" (that's what it is), practically on a Forrest Gump mode, hence it shows resignation - a slightly wavy line rather than a 5-star roller-coaster-like ups and downs. They seem to prefer peace of mind more than determining how they are doing on that mental scale. Yeah, they vent with one another, but don't actually complain or look for validation.
It's not unlike the "it could be worse" - a very English way to roll with it.
Hence I am a rather resigned person (in case you don't know, I'm 72) myself. I like quiet, I like to get on with others, I like my hum-drum activities. I am looking at a foot surgery I should get done and I know that it's NOT going to be easy to manage, but then... what can I do? I need that surgery. This is positive enough an attitude. I don't want to worry in advance.

Whenever I get angry thoughts or frustrated thoughts that I am aware of, I ask myself what will be the effect if I unload all that on someone. It will hurt them. I avoid hurting them and I feel better about myself and they feel better about me.
@soulsings
Nice soul. I feel when we hurt others we always hurt ourselves too, even if we might not realize it.
@amiablePeace77 absolutely. Hurting others is like a two edged sword that cuts both ways.
