Long-time choir member here. The present choir sings French pop songs, so usually not too interesting to me, but at least it's singing in a group as a female baritone.
I sing to kids, for instance, walking them back from school (there are all kinds of marching songs for children and scouts).
I am pretty good at whistling all the more that tunes are better remembered than words. It could be arias, folk tunes, hymns, and these come out while walking, either in town or outside in the countryside.

@Fradiga you sound like a very musical person - a female baritone sounds like a deep voice. Do you have any recordings that do not reveal your personal identity that you care to share?

Well, when you are part of a choir, your voice is NOT supposed to be distinct from the rest of the "instrument" that a choir is. Choir singers are also supposed to have a "white" voice, which means no tremolos should be heard. This is why you can't really hear me in a choir.
Of course some recordings have been made for all the choirs I belonged to but they are not commercialized and I have no legal right to use them.
I have enjoyed a great voice range most of my life, reaching the C above the G clef staff (making me a soprano), but I lost the upper range by first, accepting to sing alto (the joke is that altos are actually sopranos who can actually read music) too many years and then back in 2015, my upper range dropped further during chemotherapy. I then noticed how low my range could get, although not with a lot of resonance, but I reach the A at the bottom of the F clef staff still, and two notes lower when I have a cold. My speaking voice is medium to high, which is not deserved as a smoker..
This treatment was also the cause of neuropathy in my hands where I lost so much sensitivity that I had to stop playing the harp or other string instruments. I can play some piano still, but not too fast....

@Fradiga now I understand how you got to where you are today. Sorry for the loss of your upper range but you are a survivor and make the most of what you have. I hear you choirs are a blending. Thanks for sharing in detail.

Thank you for your kind comment and interest. It's very hard to find a good synonym for "survivor" and it is used all over the place for many different stories. "Former patient" is really the level I would choose for myself 😃

It has been so long i don't remember.
I used to sing songs all the time... all my 20s basically.. in my 30s I made a transition to reading and singing got replaced... it's searching for solace through words.. before it was in love songs , now it's about stories ...
