What you want to take a break from?
My inability to be completely calm and composed when the situation calls for it.
I failed a road test today because I didn't yield to cars who had the right-of-way. After stopping at a two-way stop sign, I felt anxious to drive forward, but didn't consider that I had to keep waiting. I feel so ashamed of myself for failing like this and nearly causing an accident, as I had practiced several times to prevent this scenario, but I let my anxiety take over me instead.
I really want to take a break from the looming anxiety and panic that overtakes me when I feel even a tiny bit of pressure. It's so upsetting and exhausting, especially when it costs me opportunities in detrimental ways.
How can you take a break from that?
I suppose I could keep practicing for my next road test and being more vigilant while driving, but staying consistently calm is so difficult. For that to happen, I need to be able to maintain concentration at all times, like recognizing my panic and telling myself to breathe.
If only that was possible so I can completely take a break from my anxiety. I'm often panicking without realizing it.
@soulsings 1. Take a break from my life
2. By hibernating.
@soulsings
- What do you want to take a break from? I would like to take a break from my life and my husband.
- How can you take a break from that? I honestly haven't figured that out yet. I feel like I'm on the edge of a precipice. Something is going to happen soon and I am living in dread waiting.
@soulsings Take a break? I wish. Both literally and figuratively there are no breaks for me. Every day, literally 365 days a year unless I am too ill to do it, and even then I still do what I can around the property. I live on a homestead that has been neglected for years. Now with no money and limited skills I'm trying to fix it in spite and to spite an ex-girlfriend who owns the property and for odd reasons does not want me to actually succeed in spite of the necessity of my success for us all. My almost 90 father needs me to fix his stuff as well and lives on the property also. I cannot leave the property because he'd be left in really bad straits. So I dumpster dive and use what I get from there to fix things around here and bring in what cash I can to pay my bills. I have no cushion. There are no days off. Zero, it's been over 18 months since I could take a day off. Not for holidays, not to rest. Way too much to do and always always more getting piled on it.
I'd LOVE to have a break from my ex-gf's animosity. From her constant threats to toss me off the property. Complaints and absolute disrespect.
I'd love to have a break from absolute poverty.
I'd love to have a break from the crushing depression that sits on me each and every day from my situation.
It aint going to happen. I logged on here hoping for a free chance to just talk to somebody, but apparently that's not even going to happen. I have no money. No health insurance. No hope of getting either right now. So free is my only option at the moment. So I don't even get a break from reminders that I have been left out of the economy. Left behind. No help for me.
@creativeNorth4547 nice to meet you. Sorry life is so difficult for you. It sounds like your situation is tentatuve with the situation with ex.
Do you have any siblings that could help with your father?
I had not prepared adequately for my mom dying. It came as a shock. I had to deal with the funeral and straightening out her stuff. Does you dad have resources that would help you get a new start after he is gone?
Write when you can with the tag @soulsings in the message so I get an alert.
