is therapy priavte
i would love to get into therapy bu due to my situations ive been legally advised not go see a therapist and had to sadly stop belivejng therapists anymore after my first sesssion for my safery. i felt like it is jot worrh ut if every session is "russian roulette" where its a bunch of whatifs and it would seem like i be generalizjng everything. i waa recomneded to just do 7cups, crisis text line and just peer sites instead for therapy. do u tell ur therapists everything or censor some things or else u or someone else can get in trouble?
@TeaGreenTea12 Conversations with listeners are private, but there are some topics where they are required to end the chat.
I think with therapists it depends on where they are licensed, some things have to be disclosed.
what topics will End the chat?
@TeaGreenTea12 If you are in crisis, actively self harming, or abusing anyone. Illegal activities is a bit of a grey area. The crisis policy is here.
@Soulsings do you have information that can be shared here on when therapy would no longer be private?
@AffyAvo I am sorry just got back from a few days off. I agree with amiablePeace's answers.
To the best of my knowledge, all therapy communication is confidential and not shared with others.
@TeaGreenTea12
Sorry to hear that getting therapy for you is connected with so many doubts. One needs to feel safe when doing therapy. You will find information about the legal things on your dashboard under "Quick links" - "Online Therapy" - "Terms" - "Privacy Policy".
Another option would be to email support@7cups.com and explain the situation and you will get support for this issue.
