as i grow up as an adult i realize that just being emotional about things will get you nowhere. yes, you need to accept your emotions but it´s equally important to manage them so you are not bothered by tiny little things. yes, i still struggle with the balance but at least now i am accepting of it!

When I retired I was concerned about what would replace work with all the contact with people and meaningful work. I started volunteering for 7cups and it has changed me as a person to be more empathic and have better communication skills. Thank you 7cups and all the people that have helped me along my journey here.

When I eventually had to accept that I can't funtion productively or consistently/reliably in the business world anymore, my outlook on life and the value of money and posessions changed drastically. I have very little personally now and I'm happy that way. I'm grateful that the household has enough to live comfortably and securely and that's all that matters.

I still worry about the future, especially in these uncertain times, but it's no longer a concern over wanting or needing 'more' but rather to keep having enough to live happily. I desperately want to be able to work but only because it would mean that other family members won't have to work as hard, or could stop working alltogether.

We will always want more, but we sometimes don't recognize or appreciate that we don't need more. Find your happy and start enjoying it rather than persuing 'more' and end up not being able to enjoy it as you have spent every ounce of energy obtaining, potentially, that unobtainable piece of 'Eden' that we think we want/should have.

Whatever happened in your life truly made you a very grateful person with lots of insight! I can understand that you want to support your family but I'm sure your family members appreciate your change and would not like you to do something what is not good for you.

Sadly trauma if not dealt with can change everything, the way we see us, others, the world in general. I hope being here on this site helps you to cope heart. This is a link to our trauma support https://www.7cups.com/home/trauma/ and to our "AMA" (ask me anything with 7cups therapists) https://www.7cups.com/forum/7CupsOnlineTherapy_157/AMAwiththe7CupsTherapists_1133/
