I feel tired of being let down
As I have been going through life, there are lots of things that I looked forward to doing. However, I feel like life has really let me down in a lot of ways.
I really wanted..
1. A great relationship with both of my parents- However, my parents had problems of their own. Then they also seemed to chose the middle child over me.
2. To be life long friends with a friend from childhood- She got older and lost her interest in me
3. To drive a car- No one has seemed intersted in helping me
4. A career in psychology but I am stuck working as a receptionist right now.
5. A relationship with my family - They have either stigmatized me or left me at the bottom of their list
I am tired of being overlooked and let down by other people. I am also tired of them never getting why I am frustrated about not getting to do some of the same opportunities that I listed above. If I tell them that I want more it's "Well you do such a good job with..." then they wonder why in the world why I get so upset.

Sometimes it can feel like everything is going wrong, that nothing is going your way, and it's okay to be irritated about it. 💙 Taking care of myself is what I find to be most helpful in those circumstances. I also remind myself that things can change and that I can contribute to it. Not everything might change the way I want it, but I can set a goal. What could one goal be for you rn?

At the moment, I am looking to network and build up some skillsets with other people.
@Summershy
Great idea Summershy! You're moving forward!
I can relate.
We set these expectations for life and it's so crushing when they're not met.
It makes sense why you feel like you're being dismissed or unacknowledged. A lot of people tend to go into support with trying to prop up the things going well in life. When all you really want is the space to be heard.
Relationships with family members are the toughest to work through because there's a history behind every moment.
It sounds like you aren't getting the kind of support you need which is isolating.
If we could reframe it, then maybe some of these things just haven't happened yet. There's no rush. Life is a slow crawl of monotony.
All that really matters is what you do about it.
And sometimes we need to grovel on the ground for a while.

@Summershy so are you saying down is not the only direction there is? I had no way of knowing that. That's amazing knowledge.
I feel you, been let down by the closet people and let down by my own dreams and plans.
So I chose peace instead of constantly wanting and needing to have specific things and reach my goals which no longer apply to me at the moment.
It is hard when you feel that people don’t understand your feelings. Sometimes though we need to refocus on what we want to do and not concern ourselves with what others think of us. If we live a fulfilling life, other people will take notice and will respect us, but our primary motivation should be to life the life we want to live.
