What Lessons Has COVID-19 Brought You?

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and safe and looking after yourself and those around you.

Often even in the darkest of times, we find a lesson in our suffering. We grow through the pain we've experienced. We've been through a stage of collective suffering, and we are still going through this. It has overwhelmed the entire universe and has also brought us together. It's not often that we are going through the same issue together in life.

I have learned to connect more with loved ones because time is passing us by, and it can be a distraction, but when we learn to be present and take the time to communicate with our loved ones, it's so rewarding. I have also spent the time reflecting more on the increased time at home. I also feel grateful for the reduced air pollution and increased kindness; I think I've felt people really connect more during the fragility of life.

The more an individual is aware of the delicate nature of life, the easier it becomes to approach each moment with a higher level of sensitivity. Vulnerability elicits kindness, authenticity, joy, and the most honest, loving form of expression. The fragility of life serves as a constant reminder for the need to live in the present moment. - Russell Forsyth

Can we please share what lessons COVID-19 has brought into your life?

I like that you mentioned COVID reminding us to live in the present. That’s been a really important lesson for me to learn during this time. I’m still learning to take one day at a time. If I don’t, I find my mind just flies way into the future and conjures up irrational predictions that cause me to worry and stress unnecessarily. So living in the present - SUPER IMPORTANT! Thank you for starting this thread 💛

I've learned to slow down. It's ok to have idle time and not do anything in particular. It's ok every now and then to sit in a lawn chair and feel the sun on your face. You're not doing something wrong just because you're not doing something. I used to get really upset with myself about idle time. I would spend it wondering, what should I be doing? What isn't getting done? I always felt like I was watching the world pass by. Worse, I would compare myself to my friends and family and think, I bet my mom isn't sitting on a couch. I bet my friends are out tonight having fun, and here I sit. I didn't know if they were doing stuff or not and it really isn't any of my business. It's not helpful and a train of thought I've been working on stopping.

What beautiful reflections heart It has been a time of adversity but a space in which we've all learned something... I like the reflection of being okay with idle time and focused on acceptance and slowing down.

For me Covid time has been a time of reflecting on what my true needs are and how I can get them even in difficult times.

I think online support has become even more important for me now. What a change we all have been through.

You can be better becuse of something, or inspite of something. The point is you'll have the opportunity to be better. The pandemic and connecting more online has reinforced this for me.

one very important lesson that covid taught me was to take time for myself every once in awhile and that it’s okay to relax c:

Yes, finding more time for you and enjoying the down time is important for our sanity But so is seeing a person face to face and hugs 🤗 The bad things about COVID are the d-sensitized we have become and saying what we want to on social media can also separate us. We are human and it’s time to open up and be present, in person, not 6 feet away. It’s been a year of so much anxiety and fear, it’s time for Love and Kindness more than ever❤️

When given a moment to rethink, this phase has given me soo much to be thankful for. To connect with family and loved ones, to bond with neighbors. Often we get so busy in our life that we forget about self care. Im thankful for the health and wellness and hope to get through soon

Hello COVID 19 has taught me how to better take care of yourself and stay healthy. I think I watch my hands more than I did before COVID. I have now started to eat healthy as well more vegetables and fruit. I have been saving more money as well. Also spending more time with your children has increase during the pandemic. As a educator I have seen more parents really get to know there children behavior when it comes to school work.
