What are some “words of wisdom” that guide your life?
Hey Everyone! I am back from my self-care break, and I am ready to continue posting 😊. Today’s question is What are some “words of wisdom” that guide your life? I have gotten a lot of words of wisdom that have guided my life for so long, but the one that guides me the most is this saying: “Never let anyone tell what you cannot do.”
My dad said this to me because he did not want anyone to stop me from pursuing my career in the medical field. I have lived by these words for so long, and I still do today. What about you guys? What are some “words of wisdom” that guide your life?
I would love to hear what you have to say ❤️. Desmynn

Yay!!! Welcome back! I love this post!
Some words of wisdom that have guided my life are "it doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, getting back up is what matters most". It is a reminder that sometimes we may fail repeatedly, but perseverance is the key.
Past is behind. Future is not ours yet. We have only today.
Dont follow it of course but trying 😁
@MajaRina, That was an excellent example of some words of wisdom. I think it is good not to worry about the future because we don’t know what it holds yet. Additionally, I also believe it is essential to not ponder on the past as well because sometimes it can bring us down. I like your post, and I appreciate you participating in this discussion ❤️.

There was an episode of drag race where someone said "If you've got one foot in the past, and one in the futute, then you're pissing on today"
Thought you might like that lol 😊
@Desmynn6789 thanks this is a wonderful question!
I think the ones I use very often when I fall short of expectations is
"I am doing the best I can. That is all anyone can reasonably expect of me."
and
"It is okay to be the way you are right now."
Hi @soulsings, Those are great words of wisdom to follow. I especially loved the first one because that is a crucial saying that applies to our everyday lives. I always thought that I should do better in something that I have tried my best in. However, now I know that is not the case because you can only do your best. 😊

Just love people as they are, not as we want them to be.
Hi @enthusiasticTortoise6681, those are great words of wisdom. I agree that it is important to love a person the way they are and not try to change to them into someone we want. I think this is an important principle that we should all know and learn throughout our lives because we wouldn’t want someone to try to change us. So why should we try to change others? Thank you for your participation ❤️😊.

thanks. I found this written in my moms Bible

Thank you for this great thread Desmynn! I love your answer too about not letting anyone tell you what you cannot do. I had that so often in life but luckily never listened to it 😊. We all can do so much more than we and others think if we put our minds into it but let me also answer your question:
What are some “words of wisdom” that guide your life? Take time for yourself and "smell the roses" to support your mental health
“When someone tells you who they are, believe them”
There are no mistakes in life , you wanted to be there at one time and if it wasn’t right for you it teaches us to never look back.

"Leave things better than you found them." This applies to more than just campsites, but a lot of things in life.
